Our action story

Happy Monday everyone!

Can you believe we are already in the last week of our summer school??! Time flights way too fast! But let's not be too sad too soon because this week has a lot of nice surprises in store for us!
The theme of the week is creating books and stories and we're pretty good at that with our buds friends.

We started the day by creating our own books with Erika! It was so much fun. We had white papers on the table with holes on one of their sides and we used fuzzy wires to pass through the holes of the papers to connect all the pages together and create our very own book. And it does not stop there! We then glued the letters of our names on the cover to prove that we are the authors of our book and we then used stickers and dot markers to decorate the first page. It was a big adventure already and we cannot wait to be tomorrow to keep adding to our story.

We also played with trains and big legos! Marjorie and I built a fortress with the big legos together and S really enjoyed playing with the trains in the fortress which was bigger than him, can you imagine!

After our snack we had a little more free play and we already started thinking about our story: S became a hiker climbing a mountain, B an explorer crawling through a tunnel to find treasures, N a formula one driver at full speed and I a prodigy aviator, we don't know all the details of our story yet but it will be an action story for sure!

Then, during our circle time we talked about the alphabet which is the most important part to bring our story to life! Marjorie started our discovery of the alphabet with one of our favorite books "Chika Chika Boom Boom" by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault. It's always fun to follow the alphabet's letters race to the top of the coconut tree and it’s even better when we sing it together! It was so lively that N and S even danced at the same time!
At the end of the story we all sang the alphabet song together and we noticed that it might be one of N's favorite songs because she seems to know almost all the lyrics and has a big smile on her face when she sang it! B has a very nice voice as well!

To discover a little more about the structure of a story, S asked Marjorie to read us the book he was holding in his hands and we were all happy about that because we were once again able to sing at the same time! It was "The Wheels on the bus' ' illustrated by Jerry Smath and S showed us all the gestures we had to do all along the story, it was very fun!

And after that it was already time for us to get ready for lunch time!

Thanks for today everyone, have a wonderful afternoon and see you all tomorrow!

Love,
Buds Friends
