Preschool Band Concert

Happy Friday! Today is the last day of Preschool Band / Music week for summer school! That means we will be putting on a concert! We are excited to show what we have been working on!

MORNING ACTIVITIES

We finished working on our microphones and costumes that we will use for our concert. We made our microphones out of construction paper and shiny silver/gold origami paper. We made our band uniform by attaching pom poms and various other things to a black plastic bag.

We also enjoyed pool play this morning with cooler than usual weather, which was very nice!

CONCERT

This week, we have been working on three songs in preparation for our concert today. We enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing our instruments while we practiced. Today was the first time that we were able to wear our uniforms! We tried them on, and they fit perfectly. We felt like we were in a real band!

The singers in our band were able to choose the microphones that we made earlier in the week. Our percussionists chose their drums and castanets, our dancers put on their ribbon bracelets, and our guitarist had their guitar ready. It was time to begin!

Before our performance, we practiced our songs one last time, to fine tune our voices and instruments, and for our friends who haven’t been here the past couple of days. Now we were ready!

Our first song, suggested by Ak, was Bones by Imagine Dragons. This song is fast-paced and really allowed us to let our energy flow! Our percussionists and guitarist lead the way with passion!

Our next song was Paprika by Kenshi Yonezu. This song’s light, upbeat tempo allowed our vocalists to shine, and our dancers to feel happy and carefree!

Our final song was Speechless by Naomi Scott. This song is a slower and more intense song than the previous two. Our vocalists also took center stage in this piece, while the rest of our band tried their best to compliment them without compromising their own abilities.

Our mini concert was a success! We absolutely loved preparing these songs and performing them along with our bandmates. We think we’re ready to tour now! Coming soon to a venue near you! Flowers Band!

NEXT WEEK

Our final week of summer school is next week! Our theme will be book making! We will get a chance to discover our talents for writing, illustration, storytelling, and publishing! What kind of books will we create? We can’t wait to find out!

Have an amazing weekend! See you on Monday!

Love,

Flowers XOXO
