My Family and I
On the table in the toy play area today we saw a game we hadn’t seen for a while, Chess. Eito wanted to play immediately and as soon as Tokutaro arrived he joined Eito. Tokutaro learnt to play a little before the summer break and knew how to move several of the pieces.
They started with the pawns and moved them correctly. Well done! On the carpet Ava put together the giant alphabet puzzle and completed all of it very quickly.
Jeremy and Jessica came to the tables to work on their measuring skills and used the tape, rulers and pencils to measure their own cut tape work. Marc enjoyed playing with the cork boards, wooden shapes, small hammers and nails. He first made a picture using the wooden pieces and then used the small nails and the hammer to hold them in place. Ava, Eito and Tokutaro then decided they should dress up.
Ava managed to squeeze into an Astronaut suit while Eito and Tokutaro tried on the musketeer suits. They all looked so cute together.
Ethan, Arata and Ryan all enjoyed playing with the train set on the carpet too. It was beautiful weather in the park and we had a good time on the swings and climbing frame with our friends from petals and buds class too. When we returned form the park we read a great book titled ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ which described how the child ‘Gruffalo’ crept away in the middle of the night in search of a horrible giant mouse.
This brought us onto talking about our mummies and families. We went around the group and asked about how many people they live with whether brothers, sisters, mummies, daddies, grandparents or nannies.
We then moved to the table and started a nice drawing of our families.
We didn’t have enough time to complete them unfortunately and so we will continue to work on them after the weekend. Wishing you all a great weekend.
All our Love, Darren, Ayaka and Nanako
