Show and Tell and Living Things!

We are grateful to have beautiful weather for today’s picnic. Thank you for coming and joining us! It was so much fun to eat snacks and play games with our moms and dads. Please don’t forget to check out our photos.

CIRCLE TIME

After our picnic, we went back to Flowers and had a short circle time. We recalled our song that reminds that living things eat, move, grow and can reproduce. Going back to our discussion yesterday, we tried to define what reproduce means. Then, Vieda asked us to give examples of living things. Ai started a very interesting discussion when he said that “Mommies are living things!”. Please read on!

Ty: Reproduce means taking the earth clean.

Vi: Reproduce means one can make babies.

Sh: Chickens! When the chick is too big, they crack the egg too!

Ai: Mommies! (Mommies are living things.) They grow because they eat healthy food.

Ty: Daddies (are living things) too!

Ma: Some daddies can make a baby. They go to a doctor. If there is big, they can go to a doctor. If their tummy is big, they can go to the doctor and see if it’s a baby.

M: When mommy eat eggs, the baby will eat eggs.

Ty: If the mommy drinks champagne, the baby drink champagne.

To: But baby might can … get sick. Because it bubbles.

M: If mommy eats something I can eat, I eat it too.

Oj: Daddy can’t have baby. If you check, doctor say “no baby”.

To: You need to cut the belly and take the baby. You need to cut straight.

Ai: My mommy has a scar. Because of me and Ella. But I came out first.

Ma: Not every dad can born the baby. But some can born a baby. Sometimes they don’t know if there’s a baby. The doctor will check with super things and say yes or no.

When asked if daddies are living things, M said, “Only some daddies are because only some daddies can have babies. Some of them will have a bigger tummy with babies inside”. We were not quite sure how come some daddies can have babies, and some cannot.

How about the flowers? Are they living things? We replied yes! Two days ago, we planted some flowers at Step Park. Ai said, “Flowers were seeds first actually!”. Sh agreed and said, “And they eat too that’s why we water them!”.

We are looking forward to another exciting exchange of ideas about this topic😊

QUESTION OF THE DAY (Do you like to help the Earth?)

Many thanks to Sa and O who read today’s Show and Tell. We were excited to share our ideas about helping our earth.

              Ai: Clean up the trash.

Yu: We don’t use any more plastic.

              Ty: We cannot waste trees.

Yu: How can you help earth? I don’t know so..

              Ty: You can recycle plastic.

To: Earth can fly! He can fly to the moon!
Yu: One time in the ocean, I see a lot of plastic.

To: Crab have small mouth so they cannot eat plastic. Sometimes you cook the crab and inside trash.

Sh: One time on the beach, I see plastic bags.

We really want to show we love our earth. As a class, we will think of ways that we can do in Flowers and at home to help our earth.

SHOW and TELL by Sh

Sh: Today, I’m gonna show you ninja moves. A very long time ago, there were ninjas in Japan. They were fighting with swords and shuriken. They have two kinds of swords.

Q and A

Ai: How do you do that?

Sh: I don’t know how to tell.

(Sh showed us the moves and we tried to copy him!)

Ma: How did you know ninjas do that?

              Sh: I just know that.

              Mi: It was so cool!
Yu: Why did you learn ninja?

              Sh: Because I love ninjas!
              Ty: I like the moves!

              A: I like that move!

Sa: How did you do the ninja pose?

Thank you, Sh for sharing about ninjas and teaching some moves and poses! We enjoyed it very much!
