Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday in Buds class . This morning on the first table we challenged ourselves to some peg puzzles. I quickly completed the fruit puzzle by himself saying “banana and apple” as he placed the pieces in the correct place. K was interested in the face puzzle and knew where to put the eyes, nose and ears.

On the second table we had colored transparent blocks stacked up on the light table. Y was excited to see the blocks lit up and started to build a tall tower. A and K also joined in to build towers. When the towers fell over everyone laughed as it surprised us with such a loud sound. K liked holding the blocks up to his eyes and looking through them, he tried lots of different colored blocks.

On the small table we all had fun learning about spinning paint art. We scooped some paint onto paper in the spinner, put the lid on and then turned the handle to give it a big spin. Y did a great job spooning in the paint and spinning the spinner by herself. I loved watching the spinner and stayed to watch the spinner closely when it was his friend's turn. S enjoyed turning the handle on the spinner and gave his artwork a good long spin.

During circle time we pointed to the different parts of our bodies - face, arms, legs and feet. Then we met Mr potato head and saw he had absolutely nothing, he was just a bare potato, so together we all chose a piece and helped to assemble him. K chose a cool green baseball cap which he popped on sideways. L waited patiently and chose a wiggly blue arm to add to Mr Potato head. S chose a pink nose which was the final piece for his face! It was nice to see him slowly come together with all his body parts, when we finished we laughed to see his silly face.

After we finished building Mr Potato head we were ready to get our wiggles out so we jumped up to dance to “hot potato” by The Wiggles. L and A wowed us with their fun dance moves. We still had a lot of energy to move so we also danced to Dr Jean’s Banana Dance, R was great at following the teachers dance moves.

We read a fun lift the flap book called Peek-a-Zoo by Marie Torres Cimarusti. We tried to guess what animal was hiding behind their hands, it was fun to pull down their hands to find out.

Today we shared our friend R's lifebook. She lovingly pointed out to us her “mama, papa and her pet cat” Thank you for sharing with us your family and friends from around the world. We saw so many of your fun adventures and we are sure you will have many more.

Thank you and have a wonderful afternoon everyone!

Love,

Buds
