Happy Tuesday! Our morning was filled with activities that made our fingers and hands very busy. Our teeny-weeny muscles in our fingers went into good exercise as we played with blocks, cut materials for our collage and Valentine card, and completed puzzles. What a fun morning it was!
Many thanks to Maryna for teaching us new dance steps for Dad’s Day event. We are excited to see our dads in Flowers and show our newest dance steps😊
After park time, we had a quick circle time where we talked about the continent Asia, and tried to name the countries we can find in it.
Re: Asia looks so big!
Sh: That’s the Philippines!
Mi: Hokkaido from me.
To: I go there before (while pointing to China).
Re: India is where Co go. Maybe she can look China!
M: I want to go to China, but I think everyone speak Chinese.
Sh: I went to Hongkong.
Re: What about Hokkaido. It’s still Japan but different.
Sh: The accent is different!
Y: My mommy went to Hiroshima Jinja when was a woman or old woman.
Re: How many countries (pointed to the world map).
QUESTION of the DAY (Can you show your love?)
Before moving on to our discussion, we tried to describe what love is.
Ai: Love is liking your mommy.
Re: Everyday, I say I love you to mommy.
Ai: I love my dad when he plays football with me.
Sh: People do good things to people.
Y: Maybe a hug.
Ri: I think love is something you like.
For sure, we think positively when we hear the word, “LOVE”. It makes us feel happy and reminds us of the people and things that we like. We tried thinking of the things that we could do to show our love. We paused. Perhaps, we need more time to reflect on love and grasp the meaning of what the song says, “Love is something if you give it away, then it comes back right to you”. And February is just about the right month to learn about LOVE!
GROUP ACTIVITY
We divided into 3 groups and shared our ideas about the question, “Can you show your love”.
To: I love To because To is my best friend. I love mommy by show my face.
Ma: My daddy is funny, and mama is so nice. I do nothing.
K: Daddy, mommy too house play blocks.
Ai: By playing football and it flies. (I love) Daddy and mommy.
Re: We can show with our face, hugging, and making hearts with your hand. (I love) Daddy, mommy, grandma, grandpa, and sister.
R: Hugging and making hearts. (I love mommy, daddy, brothers).
Yu: Goodness no!
Mi: I love my daddy when I do karate, and I do 100 karate stickers and daddy buy me toys. I show daddy I love him and eat together at nighttime. My daddy and me eat together only one day. Only Saturdays. I love my mommy, so I say I love you.
Zo: I love you, Mommy! I love you, Daddy!”.
We hope our friends who were not here today will feel better soon. We are excited to hear their ideas about love and if they can show it. We hope to see you at school soon!
We hope your day was as great as ours😊
PS: For our homework, please share with us the number of countries we have around the world, and how many dialects there are in Japan.
Love,
Flowers XOXO
