Love is in the air!
Wednesday, February 12th: Love is in the air
Welcome back to another wonderful Wednesday. Everyone was happy to be back and ready to learn after the long weekend. Today we started our week of love with Valentine's Day being just around the corner.
On the first table we had some freshly made pink and purple play dough. K quickly picked up the heart cutter and was keen to cut out pink hearts. R liked mixing little pieces of pink and purple together and wanted to cut out little bear shapes. I enjoyed rolling pieces to make long snakes.
On the second table we continued with spinning paint art for our Valentines cards. L was very excited to try it out and carefully spooned the paint into the spinner by himself. He was impressed with his final result after he gave it a fast spin and stuck around to do more. T also enjoyed using the spinner and seeing the paint make different patterns.
The sensory table was filled with colorful pasta, bowls and spoons. L and L filled up bowls with pasta using spoons as well as their hands. Y scooped up lots of pasta and filled her bowl up till it overflowed. S poured pasta from bowl to bowl.
Over in our new dress up corner for imaginative play we were excited to discover a clothes rack full of fun costumes and head wear. We had princess A, robot K and Peter Pan N! It was so much fun trying on different costumes.
During circle time we gave the muscles in our hands and arms a little work out by moulding play dough. We practised rolling the playdough into a ball between our hands and then flattened it by patting it on the floor. After it was nice and flat we rolled it with the palm of our hand to make a nice long snake. We all tried our best to follow step by step directions and copy what our teachers did.
Today we shared S’s life book. We were delighted to see S and his fun times with his family and his special friend, his dog! Thank you for sharing your beautiful moments with us. We truly love learning about our friends from their life books.
Thank you for a wonderful day, see you tomorrow.
Love,
Buds
