A visit to Hong Kong
We started our morning using a long rectangular sponge to make a brick wall pattern! We also played with the people figures together with the flags and world map. We had a short free play time because we needed to start practicing our second song for Dad’s Day! Our teachers made posters with pictures to help us remember the words to the song.
E: Look at my muscles. I ate a lot today.
R: *Pointed at a family* That is not me.
J: A hand.
D: #1
Nimo: Everyone’s dad is number 1!
Petals: Yeah!
R: How about mommy?
D: My mommy is #1. One more sleep until mommy’s birthday.
We finished practicing then had a short chat about how to listen to guests and how to show respect. We welcomed our guest C, R’s Mom! C taught us about R’s home town Hong Kong and she explained Hong Kong is a part of China. She showed us pictures of when Rigel was a baby and some of the things in Hong Kong.
E: I go to Hong Kong too!
M: I want to go to Hong Kong.
E: I like noodles and chicken.
J: Cute (baby).
C: Some of R’s family lives in Australia.
R: Why does he stay in Australia?
E: He doesn’t come back to Japan?
Next, C introduced us to the many forms of transportation in Hong Kong! Airplanes, Double Decker Buses, City Buses, Taxis, and R’s favorite, MTR (Trains). C brought toys of the vehicles too so we could get a closer look at them! After the wonderful presentation, we sat down at the table and did a fun craft! We each got a red envelope and a series of pictures to decorate it with. We used the glue to stick the pictures of anywhere we wanted to make our unique envelopes!
We thanked C for the wonderful day and we got prepared to go to the park! We played with the rings at Iki Iki Plaza park.
Thank you all for another fabulous day!
Have a wonderful evening and see you all again tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
