Reviewing our Flags
We started our morning playing with our fresh batch of play dough we made yesterday! We also played with the building blocks and continued our scrap cloth craft!
E: I’m playing with Rigel!
R: I made a rocket ship!
D: I made flying ice cream.
J: I made ice cream.
Esmi: What flavor is it?
J: It’s lemon and apple.
D: Mine is blueberry and red mix.
J: I make a robot.
I: (Rolled the playdough into a ball) Egg!
P: I’m making pasta.
For our circle time today we sang some songs then practiced sounding out our vowels. Nimo showed us the large alphabets, “A, E, I, O, U” and modeled how to make their sounds and we tried copying him! We also thought of a few things that started with the vowel sounds.
R: A…A… Apple!
E: Alligator and E.
R: E… Egg. E looks like F.
M: I for Ice cream!
R: And Isa.
Nimo: O make an… O… sound.
M: Flower!
R: Owl. I and O look like 10.
Nimo: U says, U, U… Umbrella!
M: Up!
R: Upps (sounded like oops)!
After our short phonics time, we learned about the Seven Continents while looking at the world map and sang the Seven Continents song. Then, we reviewed the flags for our game.
R: This is my Hong Kong.
E: This is China Flag. My China!
P: I’m China too!
M: It’s my China too!
D: Philippine flag.
R: South Africa!
M: Shelley (is from South Africa)!
R: South Korea.
Our teachers set up an obstacle course with the tactile path and hopscotch. For the first round, our teachers told us to go get our country’s flag from the table. We kept our balance as we carefully walked across the tactile path, then hopped on the square cushions like hopscotch. We got the flag we needed and carefully went back. The second round was a little more competitive. Our teachers said the name of a country and we raced across the obstacle course and touched the correct flag. Our friends really enjoyed the game and wanted to play more rounds!
Our story for today was, “All The World” by Liz Garton Scanlon. It was a beautiful book about our huge, beloved planet.
M: Look, it’s a boat!
R: They are cooking.
E: I’m hungry now…
We finished up our day playing at the park then came back for lunch time!
Thank you all for another lovely day! Hope you all have a wonderful evening and we will see you again tomorrow for Fabulous Friday!
Love,
Petals
