Big balls at the Park

Wednesday, January 15th - big balls at the park.

Happy Wednesday!

On the front table we had a mr potato head toy. Some of our friends were very curious about making it have different mouths and noses and legs and hats. A gave him some purple lips and I gave him lots of long arms.

Behind the potato head was some pink play doh. L and K rolled the play doh into a big flat pancake shape as K used the tools to slice little bits off. L made little french fry shapes with the cutter and smiled as she showed her teachers her creations.

At the back of the room we had some mega blocks to play with Y showed her friend R all of her favorite Anpanman characters as she lined them up.

We made a circle and sang our Good Morning song. Today we included the “How Are You Today” song. Some of our friends were able to tell us how they are. Y told us she was hungry and I and L told us they were happy. Then L helped Lucy count how many friends we had today… nine! We had nine Buds friends in class today.

Today we experimented with Castinets. We enjoyed the fun sounds when we clapped the two plastics together. We danced to some great songs today. “Seven Steps” “once i caught a fish alive” and we moved into a pop direction and danced to “APT”. A was singing in a beautiful voice and her backup dancers L and S accompanied her. R and Lucy were dancing with K. I and K were having fun clapping their hands together. Y and L were practising the Castinet to the timing of the song with Liezel, nice work!

After all that dancing everyone was feeling kinda hungry as it was almost snacktime but we had just enough time to watch a fun story. Lucy read us “The Wide Mouthed Frog” by Keith Faulkner. This story is a pop up book about a frog with a very wide mouth and he catches flies. The frog meets lots of different animals who eat different types of food. Everyone enjoyed the little voices that Lucy did and some of our friends were brave enough to touch the pop up animals on the page. Y giggled as the Alligator snapped at her. I said each of the animals in a big voice

“Mouse” he said

“Yes that's right! It is a mouse” replied Lucy as she made the mouse scurry towards S who shrunk his neck excitedly.

After snacktime we went to the park together. Before we went to the park we did our monthly fire evacuation drill. We practised covering our mouths and getting down low and go go go.

On the way to the park We used our walking feet to travel all the way across the street and down the alleyway and into the park! Wow no journey is too hard for our Buds warriors. S and R were at the front of the line with their big smiles leading the way.

At the park we played with the big balls. L and Y were bouncing the balls together whilst A, I and K were running around chasing each other and their teachers. Then we were treated with our Petals AND our Flowers friends coming into the park to say hello to us. It was so nice for our little Buds friends to see some old children to aspire to and our older friends were very gentle and kind to us and waved a big hello.

After having so much fun at the park we were all ready for some yummy lunch!

Thank you everyone for a wonderful Wednesday!

Looking forward to what Thursday brings.

Love,

Buds
