Matching Moods!

TGIF!

This morning at the front activity table, we enjoyed illustrating using crayons and colored pencils! Today we focused on the primary colors red, yellow and blue. These colors are also associated with the major emotions we are observing as well! L drew some lines and colored with Brandon alongside S. They both seem to really like coloring!

At the back activity table was our gloriously green play doh! The play doh is our favorite because it gives us plenty of practice to mold, shape and squish using and helping strengthen our fine motor muscles! Yay! M and N enjoyed pretending to be chefs with their friend I and I by making delicious donuts and cookies! They used the rolling pins and cookie cutters nicely with Liezel and were very generous to share their baked goods to everyone! Yummy!

In the free play area, there were colored blocks out for us to build and explore. Y and I built a castle together with Tamara. They love building with blocks and seem to always like stacking them as high as they can go!

Once we cleaned up, everyone sat down for our morning circle and “how are you?” songs. Brandon also played guitar for a new song called “this is my happy face” that we sang along to yesterday with Lucy! It was very fun to clap along and hear the teachers sing the words to us. I was super excited and danced around clapping his hands with a huge smile! R was also doing her signature dance showing off her joyful happy mood too! Nice moves R!

We also played an emotions game by listening to the teachers and touching the corresponding face. A was very interested in them and guessed the correct happy emotion! I also participated nicely by using her big voice to call out the sad emotion that Brandon showed and found the blue face that it belonged to. What a great team!

Just before snack time, we read the story “please Mr. panda”. It was about making people happy by sharing our things. We are also working on sharing in our class too! S has shown many times in class by his generous sharing towards his friends by offering toys and crayons. Nice work S!

Before we knew it, it was time to gobble up our snacks, pack away and have fun dancing to our favorite song of late, baby shark! When we settled down to rest our bodies, we played with the train track toys in the free play area and practiced walking nicely inside while holding the rope.

We are so excited to go to the park next week! We’ve all been practicing in preparation for enjoying the great weather!

Speaking of nice weather, moms and dads, do you know which planet you can see in the sky just after sunset? Please investigate and let us know!

Thanks for our first full week together and have a great weekend, Buds!

Love,

Buds.
