Secondary Colors
Marvelous Monday to everyone!
Petals Class began the week with a splash of creativity and energy. Our busy morning commenced with an exciting project. We worked together in making our Sports Day banner. We finished painting the base of our banner last Friday with Nimo and we continued to paint our individual canvases. While other friends waited for their turn to paint, we sorted colored frogs into red, blue and yellow. R and L also asked if they could play with cars.
E: Look fire! I want to make lots of fire! (while painting his canvass)
D: I want blue and pink ( the paints he wants to use for his canvass)
R: Red!(frog)
K: Look! ( pointing at the frogs he sorted out)
L: I want to play with cars.
Evita: Can we say it nicely, please.
L: Can I play with cars please?
R: Can I play too?
After free play, we formed a circle and danced to our favorite tunes. Eddie wanted, “Open Shut Them” while Louis suggested we do, “The Floor Is Lava”. It was wonderful to see Petals moving and getting warmed up for the day ahead. With our energy up, we sat down and sang the “Good Morning” song. Louis helped us lead the song while R played the ukelele. We also decided the words and steps for our Sports Day chant. Kotaro’s face lit up when he suggested Nimo’s name be part of the chant. After much deliberation, we finished the words we are going to use and all were eager to share what steps they wanted to do.
E: Can we do Open Shut Them?
L: How about, The Floor Is Lava?
K: Nimo ______! (will keep it a secret for now)
E/L: Yes! Nimo_____!
K: * showed a hand gesture he wants to do for the chant
R: Like this! (suggesting a step)
E: I want this (suggesting a step)
Evita revisited primary colors and moved to our lesson of the week; Secondary Colors! We started by discussing how we can make new colors by mixing primary colors.
