One Red Dot
What a Wonderful Wednesday we had! The weather was so nice and we were able to play a lot! We started our play with playdough and moved on to cars, our recent class favorite. We also had a ton of fun during circle time reviewing primary colors and looking for the red dot in our book “One Red Dot.” It was so exciting and we had a chance to touch and turn the pages! It was a little difficult to find the red dot sometimes, but we did our best and found all of them!
Esmi : What are the three primary colors we learned this week with Evita?
L : Red
E: Yellow
Esmi: That’s right! What is one more color? Yesterday we had 3 playdough colors, do you remember the colors?
R : With the playdough I made rain!
Esmi: Yes! What color is rain?
L : We make things
E : Blue! A blue monster!
R : Blue sushi!
K: Banana!
Esmi : What color is a banana?
Everyone : Yellow!
Esmi : Like this book! This book is yellow and …
S : red!
L : I can see the dots!
E : I want to touch this red dot.
P : I want to try!
R and L : I can see the red dot!
Then Esmi opened the book and we saw an amazing colorful box. We had to look for the red dot! But first we had to tell Esmi what colors were on the page.
L : Red!
D : White!
S: Black!
We found the red dot! Yay! Then E got to turn the page.
R : Black
E : Blue
M : Yellow
E : There’s no red dot!
The book was very exciting. We also had fun singing and dancing. Today we sang “Peel the Banana”, “Penguin Dance” and “5 Little Monsters”.
R : Peel the mango!
E : Penguin song!
T : Monster song!
R : Two little monkeys!
L : I like the monster song!
E : I don’t like the monster song. It’s too scary…
M : Heart! *She makes a heart shape*
S : Heart!
When we finished our book and dancing, the teachers set up tables and chairs so we could do an activity. Esmi explained that we should glue the small pieces of paper to the large shape with the same color. The small pieces of colored paper were the same shape as the large shape! There were little red hearts, bigger hearts and super big hearts! There were yellow circles and blue squares. We remembered those shapes from buds class! T really likes the little red hearts. D liked the blue squares and K liked the yellow circles, but he was good at gluing each shape. M , B, and So worked together to glue the shapes one at a time. What great teamwork! L, E, P and R took turns to glue one shape at a time. They are so patient, wow! It was so fun to glue the papers with friends and we can’t wait to see it on the walls.
It was a great Wednesday, see you next time!
Love,
Petals
