How are you today?
Happy Tuesday, we were busy little Buds today. On the first table we had Mr Potato Head set up. M loved making silly faces with all the different body parts. N and Y were curious and stood by observing. R enjoyed picking up different parts of Mr Potato to hand to her teachers.
On the second table we had so much fun with wooden blocks that had colored transparent plastic in the center. We were amazed to hold it up to our eyes and see the classroom in a different color! I and S liked yellow blocks, I liked purple blocks and L liked green blocks. S and L also loved building colorful houses with the blocks.
In the back of the classroom we had the tactile beam and balls set up. I and Y challenged themselves by trying to balance and walk around the beams. N loved being surrounded by balls and happily sat in the ball pit and threw the balls everywhere. Y was excited to see so many colorful balls and loved collecting them.
On the sensory table we had animal figurines out and about. I went through all the animal sounds, making the cows “moo”, the pigs “oink” and the tigers “roar”. L and S were interested in the big dinosaurs.
During circle time Tamara showed us yellow, blue, red and purple circles. We watched patiently
as she drew faces on the circles. Yellow was a happy face, blue a sad face, red an angry face and purple a sleepy face. We all practiced making different faces with the new emotions we learnt. When we sang “How are you today?” we pointed at the colorful emotion faces. I, I and M chose the yellow happy face, Y chose the blue sad face.
During book time Tamara read “What makes a Rainbow” by Betty Schwartz. We sat and listened to all the different colors that make up a rainbow. I said” blue” and I said “yellow” and “red”
For music and movement Liezel played ukulele and we sang and danced to “If you are happy and you know it” and our favorite song “Baby shark”. We also used bells to shake while we sang “I can sing a rainbow”
After snack time we were excited to try something new! We practiced walking on the rope outside the classroom in the bike parking area and were keen to also try walking up and down the two steps holding onto the handrail. We are getting better walking with the rope every day, so hopefully we can go to the park soon.
Before lunch, Y, I, M and I chose to do some painting while S, L, N and R chose to make music with drums and percussion.
Love,
Buds
