Do you feel sad, sometimes?

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another day among Flowers Children. We got blessed by a chill weather; it seems that autumn is finally here! Time to dress in warmer clothes and enjoy the changing colors. Thank you for reading our journal of today!

We started our daily routine by doing morning jobs and playing with wooden blocks and animals. We also got to personalize our own CDs by painting them and adding a lot of stickers and other craft materials onto it. When they will be completely done, we will make them hang from the ceiling as a beautiful Flowers chandelier!

Today was also our first dance class with Maryna. We started by funny songs made for warming up. The next ones were a bit trickier, but they were so neat, and everybody did their best! We were also so lucky because Maryna prepared two games for us to play after the class! For the first one, we had to dance on a song until this one stopped, then we had to drop on the floor and close our eyes. At the signal, we would find a friend hidden under a white fabric and had to guess who it was!

For the second one, Maryna was holding a ball, attached to a thread, that she swinged around. Our mission was to crawl under her without getting touched by the ball! We were so good at it.

After so much fun we gathered for our daily circle time.

CIRCLE TIME AND QUESTION OF THE DAY

After calming down by taking a few deep breaths, our teacher read us a story: Pete the Cat and his four groovy buttons. In this book, a cat named Pete is wearing a jacket with four buttons. Unfortunately, he lost his buttons one by one, but was he sad? Goodness no, because “Buttons come, and buttons go”. Eventually, the morale of the story is that, in life, things come and go, but we shouldn’t be sad about it!

While reading the story, we also counted and subtracted numbers!

A.: It’s three!

O.: 4 minus 1 equal 3!

T.: Only 2 now!

S.: Just like my shirt.

Z.: Green button run away!

M.: Oh no! Now it’s zero!

Seeing that Pete the cat wasn’t sad after losing his buttons, our teacher asked us to read our question of the day: “Do you get sad sometimes?”

S.: “Do you get sad all the time?”

Close! Good job S.!

R.: Just a little bit. When Elena takes my toys. I still give it to her.

Y.: I want to see weather on phone but mommy says no.

R.: When Kensei takes my toy. I got tell mommy.

Y.: I don’t know.

M.: Sometimes, yes.

J.: At school I can be sad, because I miss my mom and dad. That’s why, before I got to school, I take a hug and kiss!

O.: Mommy is no give it to me ice cream, I feel sad.

T.: I don’t know.

S.: Sad about nothing.

But then, what do you do when you are sad?

J.: I just sleep. You can also just hug your mom or dad or brother or sister if they are nice!

R.: How about if it is night? I play with mommy, but I am so, so busy.

M.: I watch movie in my bed and eat popcorn.

We reflected a bit more on what it means to be sad and what to do when we feel like we are. Then it was already time to eat lunch! Yummy!!!

Thank you so much for following our daily adventures and see you tomorrow for more!

Love,

Children from Flowers class.
