Learning how to take care of our things
Fabulous Friday! The typhoon is coming and bring all the rain, but our classroom was cool and dry so we had another wonderful day! After our usual morning free play time, we had fun music time! We danced to, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”, “Walking in the Jungle”, “Penguin”, and “Move Your Body”! We sat down and practiced our Ohana Song then sang our How Are You Today song!
B: I’m happy!
R: Angry! Grrr
E: Happy!
D: Silly *made a silly face*
M: Happy
P: Happy
T: Angry. *made an angry face*
K: Happy!
After our music time, we started our circle time discussion. We started by reviewing our classroom rules because it is very important.
L: Use gentle hands!
Nimo: Where do we use our gentle hands?
E: With our friends, book, and toys.
Nimo: Great! What is another classroom rule?
L: Walking feet.
E: Walking, no running!
Nimo: Why do we need to use walking feet?
M: Ouchie!
Nimo: That’s right! If we run in the classroom and trip, we could bump our heads on the tables. What is our last classroom rule?
R: Indoor voices. Shouting at the park.
Nimo: Wonderful! Do you remember how to wash your hands?
E: Like this! *rubbed his hands together*
L: Turn on the water first!
R: And do this! *washing his fingertips on the palm of his hands*
Nimo: Great job Petals! Today, I want you to make sure your boxes and backpacks are always neat and tidy! Can I check your backpacks?
P: Yes!
Nimo: Good job Peggy! Your box looks tidy! Where did you put everything?
P: Inside backpack!
Nimo: Kotaro can I check yours?
K: Yeah!
Nimo: Ooops, is your water bottle supposed to be here?
K: No! *quickly tidied up his box*
Nimo: Who needs to take care of Brendan’s backpack?
B: Me!
E: Brendan!
L: Or else it will get lost.
Nimo told us that the teacher will check our boxes after snack and lunch to make sure everything is in our backpack. We all did a great job packing our things away today!
After our snacks we read a story called, “Be A Friend” by Regina G Burch. It was a cute little story about friendship and respect. Once we finished reading and talking about how we show respect to our friends and things, we had a gym class!
We started our gym class with warmups such as stretching and jumping. We then did some animal movements to get our muscles going! We practiced our throwing skills by playing the “throw the ball into the bucket” game, then had some wild fun with the parachute!
Thank you all for another wonderful day! Stay dry out there and we will see you all again on Monday!
