What does red mean?

Thursday, September 19th - Angry Balls

Hello everyone,

It was a great day today. In the morning we came in and did our jobs, everyones working very hard to be independent and do their jobs themselves, good work everyone!

At the back of the room we had the colorful jumbo blocks, S and A ran straight over and excitedly took them out and started stacking. “Come help!” called A and I came running over. R and L made a big tower of bricks.

Towards the front of the room we had the connecting people. H and E were having so much fun looking at all the different colored people laid out. Y was singing the “good morning song” to himself as he connected some people figures.

On the small table we had an animal themed lacing activity. L loved holding the animal shapes and M was practicing her lacing skills with her friend A and I

Today was another day where we looked at anger. Lucy showed us some RED circles and drew an angry face on one of them. “How is he feeling?” “angry!” I said in a big voice.

“What do we do when we are angry”

“We shake” said I again. Wow! She remembered our mindful activities. We sang our calming song “move and shake” by  Patty Shukla.

“What do we do with our body when we are angry?” asked Tamara. A then showed us a great angry face, what an actress! H showed us how to stomp your feet when you are angry.

Then Lucy showed us some red balls in a red bucket. “Oopsie” she said as she dropped them all on the floor. Y screamed and R waved her arms. “Oh no!”

We had fun throwing and collecting the red balls. H enjoyed throwing the balls high in the sky. E squeezed the red balls and L ran around collecting the balls nicely

After snack time it was time to go for a walk. We put on our sunscreen, our bug spray and our sunscreen and we were ready to go. I was so impressed at how well everyone listened to the teachers instructions and held onto the rope. We didn't go to the park today but went to the temple where we connected with nature.

It was a very busy day, well done everybody. We will see you again, tomorrow.
