The Great Animal Footprint Mystery!

Friday, July 5th: The Great Animal Footprint Mystery!

TGIF!

Today was an extra special day, as it was our very own buds friend A’s birthday! Yay! Today she is two years old! Wow! We are so proud of you and wish you much many more!

On the front table, we played with star puzzles! I snapped together her favorite colors and shared some to her new friend L and S. The both joined in and had a blast piecing and stacking them together! They did a great job showing everyone how to share nicely between each other!

At the back table were some of the wooden toys and Mr. Potato Head ready for exploration. S showed great focus while putting her Potato Head friend together and topped it off with a hat! Very nice! I and A both laughed together when they hammered in color pegs together with the mallet! It was very funny to see!

In the freeplay area, the train set was ready for us to all board! Conductor H drove his favorite blue train all over the room! He loves the color blue! Once it was time to clean up, we sat down for our morning circle and talked about three special animals with three very different and special footprints!

We first noticed there was a large question board that said “whose prints are these?”. There was one big footprint on each row and we investigated which animal they belonged to!

First we picked up each animal and looked closely at their feet to see which shape they were most similar to before matching them and then we made a big reveal by shining a flashlight behind the white square to shine the image of the correct animal through! It was a fox, an alligator and a pig! They all have very unique and interesting footprints! I guessed the alligator footprint all by himself!

These buds are some super sleuths! Have you ever seen your own footprint before? Take a look!

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Love,

Buds
