Footprints and Froggy Friends!

Tuesday, July 2nd: Footprints and Froggy Friends!

This morning on the front table was the amazing magic sand, ready for us to mold and create! H did a wonderful job holding onto his clay cutter and cut out little cookies to share with his buddies! Thank you chef H! M also built a delicious blue cake fit for a princess, while I and I stomped out animal footprints into the magic sand! So cool!

Shortly after, Brandon brought over a frog he had found earlier in the morning! It was big and mostly brown! We all were amazed to have such an interesting animal visitor in our room today. He made sounds from inside the jar that we could hear, going “RIBBIT RIBBIT”! The frog also hopped around, showing off its long bouncy legs! Wow!

At the back table was the second part of our beautiful footprint craft! Today we added glue and yarn to further decorate them and give our fingers the challenge to assemble all the pieces! I did an amazing job holding the glue brush and carefully applying it to her footprint! She also helped I to pick out and stick yarn onto his footprint too! A came by with M to layer on their yarn, just right! They showed great focus when decorating them!

At the small table, we practiced printing our own fingerprints with Liezel’s help while using an ink pad! We were amazed to see the curves and lines pop onto the paper! We will add more details to them tomorrow and are excited for the next surprise detail to go on them as we will be asking our animal friends to help us add more unique prints to them!

Liezel gave us some very special magnifying glasses to observe our newly decorated footprints with as well as our fingerprints! The magnifying glasses make everything look bigger! I had a blast looking at many things with his magnifying glass along with Isa and A. They especially had fun making silly faces with them toward each other! This inspired us to look through the colorful wood frames we set out on the tables! H loved looking through his yellow frame at his friends and teachers! It's a lot of fun to view the world in new ways!

Once we cleaned up, we sat down for morning circle and sang the hello song together, said each others’ names with a big voice and then read “Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp” once more! Everyone loves this book so much because the dinosaurs stomp out big footprints like us!

Pretty soon, it was time for us to enjoy snack time and then have a dance party together as the weather was a bit hot outside. We dressed up in different types of headgear and danced to baby shark, as well as a new song that Lucy showed us called “takoyaki”!

Thank you and have a great afternoon everybody!

Love,

Buds
