Flowers Class Dress Rehearsal

Welcome back Petals! We started our day a little differently today. Our teachers greeted us with a smile and helped us put on smocks. After settling in, we prepared a gift for Flowers Class.

Y: It’s sunny today.

M: I don’t have a hat.

B: Me too

L: Can I give it to M?

R: Why are we going to flowers?

After finishing our gifts, Evita gathered the class and revisited the safety rules in case of fire. Petals shared what safety rules they remembered. In the end, our fire drill went smoothly.

M: Cover our nose and mouth.

Y: no running.

L: no talking.

R: I don’t like fire.

M: Put on a helmet.

When we arrived at the park we ate our snacks and played with our friends. Some friends ran while the others went up and down the slide. And just like yesterday, few friends looked for bugs. They saw some rolly pollies and ants!

Y: Can you catch me? (Rigel)

R: Yes!

M: I want to look for rolly pollies.

L: Me too! I want a big one

M: There is one under the leaf. It’s shaped like a ball

L: Do you want to touch it? ( asking Evita) How about you M?

M: I returned the rolly polly home.

When we arrived from the park, everyone took off their smocks and put away their water bottles. And since we still have a little bit of time, Evita read the book, Good Night, Little Blue Truck. This book tells the story of two friends , the toad and the little blue truck on a stormy night. They were getting ready for bed when animal friends came knocking at their door to seek safety from the storm. Thunder and lightning can be scary but it is easier to be brave with friends!

Y: Thunder! Storm!

M: goat

L: chicken? Hen

R: pig

Y: Look! ( pointing at the lightning)

R: Moon

Flowers welcomed us with warm greetings as we enter their classroom. We found our spot in front and waited for the show to start. We were amazed on how well Flowers prepared for their presentation. To show our gratitude for their invitation, Petals gave Flowers friends an origami tulips we made this morning.

M: I want to see A

R: M is there

L: I know this song.  Can I give to M?

Back in our classroom, we did our own rehearsal for our party. Everyone is getting used to the song and dance routine. And before eating lunch we played a animal guessing game. At first, Evita put some animals in a row and let the class identify them. Then she covered the animals with a cloth and took one animal. Petal friends took turn guessing which animal is missing. She then challenged the class to remember the animal sequence.
