Patterns and colors are all around us
Monday, June 3rd : Patterns and colors are all around us.
This morning we explored and made simple patterns on the front activity table with our colored people connectors. I and M had lots of fun snapping them together! After observing Liezel make a simple pattern using them, they worked together to create a large chain of unique patterns of their own! They were very excited at how long the chain became with big smiles! Nice work!
At the second activity table, L stamped play doh making interesting shapes into the clay, saying “it looks like a crocodile!”. Nearby, N and P rolled out and cut delicious cookie shapes to share with their friends. N and P are a great baking team!
In the free play area, there were large lego blocks set out and L was very excited to create a super special water gun! He used it to put out pretend fires around the class, making all feel safe and glad that he was on duty! Thank you fire marshall L!
Once we cleaned up and sat down for circle time, we sang our good morning song and recorded “I can sing a rainbow” and “twinkle twinkle little star” together! It was lots of fun and I used a big voice to sing! He inspired us all to use big voices!
After we read our name cards, Marjorie introduced a stamping activity where we investigated what colors we would discover if we mixed them! It was great fun and I was happy to find that when she mixed the red and yellow stamp, it turned orange! Pretty soon, all of us wanted a turn to discover what colors we could make! Mixing colors was so much fun and we each had a huge smile on our faces while mixing the stamps! So much fun!
Soon it was time for us all to get ready for snack time and then get ready for the park! We walked to step park and Y gave an awesome demonstration on how to properly walk while holding the rope! He independently walked to and from the park today with no help! Way to go!
When we got there, we drank some water and then played with the bouncy balls! N showed us his leg strength by kicking the balls so high and far! He also made his friends and teacher laugh by throwing a ball with his legs! It was so funny that L came by and they both giggled together at how silly and fun it was! It’s lots of fun to try things in new ways!
Thanks and have a wonderful day!
Love,
Buds
