"One"
Happy, Rainy Friday! It was pouring outside, but our classroom was full of sunshine and smiles! We started our morning with some painting! We have been learning about shapes and colors this week and we used all of the things we learned and put them into our art! First we chose a shape we wanted to use. We could choose from a square, heart, star, circle, and a triangle. After we chose a shape, we chose the color paint we wanted to use. We dipped the cookie cutter shape into the paint and stamped them on to the paper! After we finished our art we went to the play dough table and molded our new batch of blue clay! Some of us sat down at the activity table and played with the magnet shapes. We made pizzas, houses, rockets, and walls!
We packed away our toys and had music time! We sang some songs like, “Good Morning”, “How Are You?”, “ABC”, “Once I Caught A Fish”, and “Family Fingers”. Then we stood up and did some movements! First, we sang the rainbow song and looked around the classroom for the colors. Then, we jumped up and down and sang the, “Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed”, we finished up our dance session with, “Shake My Sillies Out”.
We had our snacks then sat with Nimo for a story. Today, he read, “One” by Kathryn Otoshi. It was a lovely book with colors and numbers that talked about being friends and having the courage to say, “No thank you”. After our story time we reviewed the shapes and then had gym class! We did a lot of stretching and strength workouts! Our friends really wanted to do some burpees so we did a set of 10! We finished up our gym class with a spy obstacle course! We had a lot of tape under the table and on the chairs. We crawled under the table, jumped over the laser on the chairs, then slid down the cushion to make our grand escape!
Thank you all for another fabulous week! Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you all again next week for “Who’s Prints Are These?”
Love,
Petals
