Spy Training Commence!
Welcome to Summer school friends! We were so excited to meet our new friends! Some of our friends were a little nervous in the morning, but after we sang some songs together and read some books, they got used to Petals Class and joined us for free play time! On one of our tables we had the Falling Monkey game. First, we put lots of sticks inside the palm tree then had the monkeys hang on the branch. We then took the branches out one by one and hoped the monkeys wouldn’t fall all the way down! On another table, we had play dough and in our play area we played with the toy cars! While we were playing, our teachers called us one by one to do a little hand painting! They plan to use these handprints to make a super secret spy book!
After our Free play time, we cleaned up our toys and gathered into a circle and sang our good morning song to introduce ourselves to the class! The teachers also introduced themselves to the class! After we sang some songs, we huddled closer to Nimo for a quick story time. Today he read From “Head to Toe” by Eric Carle. As he read the book we identified the names of the animals and tried doing the actions too!
I: I saw a giraffe with my mommy!
D: It’s a tall giraffe!
L: That is a buffalo!
S: Monkey!
E: I can do it!
I: It’s a gorilla!
D: Gorilla is happy.
Nimo: What animal is this?
D: Crocodile!
P: Don’t touch!
Nimo: And this one?
K: Rakuda. Camel.
Once we finished the story Nimo welcomed us again to Petals Class for summer school and reminded us that we gathered today for Spy Training! For today’s training, we did Gym class to stretch and get our bodies ready for a week of moving! We started our gym class with some basic stretches and movements then played a game where we did animal movements! Nimo showed us an animal figure and we tried to copy their movements!
We wrapped up our gym class and then washed our hands to have snack time! We sang our snack time song and then dug in! Once we were finished eating, we packed everything away and then put on our park smocks! We had a great time running and sliding at Step Park (Miyamura Jidou Kouen)!
After we burned up all of our energy, we went back to school and had our lunch. It was a lot of fun eating together while having a chat! When we were finished, we packed away, made sure to go to the toilet then we laid down for a short nap!
