Farewell my friends!

Welcome back to school! Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend! This week is the last week of May and in no time, our moms and dads will be in the classroom to celebrate our End of the Year party! For the next two weeks, we are going to be busy preparing and rehearsing our songs and dances!

To kick start our week, we invited E’s mom and dad to Petals Class to have his Farewell Party! We started by singing our Good Morning song to introduce each other. We learned that E’s dad’s name is D and his mom is J. We all greeted them with an energetic, “Good Morning!” E pointed at the world map we had on the wall and showed us where Singapore was. We also asked if he has been anywhere else in the world and they pointed at Malaysia, Thailand, France, UK, and many others!

J: UK? London is in UK right? I been to London two times.

M: I go to London too! But I only go one time.

R: My mom and dad went to Singapore before.

Our teachers asked our friends what they would like to say or ask Ethan during his farewell party.

A and M: Can we go to your house in Singapore?

E: But you don’t know where my house is in Singapore. You can come if you come to Singapore!

M: Would you like to come to my house?!

E: Yes

R: How many race car (toys) do you have?

E: I have 8 favorite ones.

R: I have 100.

M: I have 200 hundred!

J: I think i have 8000.

Nimo: Next question for E?

J: Are you going to a new school? I hope you are going to have a good time in your new school.

E: I’m not going to a new school, I’m going back to my old school.

Y: How many cars do you have in your house?

E: Two, a white one and a grey one!

R: Have you been on the Yamanote Line?

D: Actually… No we haven’t, we always go on the Metro line.

R: How about Keihintohoku line?

D: Sorry, I don’t think we been on that one either. We been on the Ginza line and Marunouchi Line.

R: I know Marunouchi!

L: We love you E!

After our Q&A time we played a fun game that D and J prepared for us, charades! E and D pretended to be animals and we had to guess what animal it was! We learned a lot about animals this year so we did a great job with the game!

Before we finished E’s Bye-bye party, we handed E a special placemat we made for him! On one side it had E’s best pictures at Ohana and on the other side were pictures of us and our names so he wouldn’t forget us! E seemed to like the placemat very much as he used it for snack time! E, D, and J also prepared a special gift for us too! E asked each of us to close our eyes and he handed us a wonderful box of crayons! We made sure to say, “Thank you!” and then we took a group photo. We thanked D and J for coming and we ate our snacks so we could go to the park early before it started to rain.

We had fun in the Temple area and observed lots of bugs! Luckily for us, it didn’t rain although we felt a few raindrops here and there. When we got back to school we sat in a circle and took a look at our chicken bones. The color changed a lot, but it seemed like it was still hard. We will need to leave it in for a little while later. We practiced singing our songs for the party then ate our lunch.

Thank you all for another lovely day! Hope you all have a great evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
