The Great Mikoshi!

Good Wednesday afternoon everyone!

Today on the first activity table we played with playdough! H and I were very creative and collaborated to make a big mountain together! N and M cooked and N was so happy to tell her teachers “I cook with M!”

On the second activity table we started a mystery craft! We were all very intrigued and had a lot of fun doing it!

We first colored two white construction papers with blue paint by stamping it with bubble wrap and everyone loved using that to paint!

Then we did a second part of the mystery craft, our teachers said it was to make tree trunks, we used brown paper which we tore into small pieces and then glued it! P, M and Y really enjoyed this activity.

In the free play area we played with the mega blocks. I made a house for Anpanman with the blocks while D built a tower. T grouped lots of blocks together to make an excavator, he proudly showed his creation to all his teachers and they were all impressed!

For circle time we finally discovered what our mystery craft was for! We are going to decorate the walls of a Mikoshi and then have a parade with it when we return from spring break! Brandon explained to us what a Mikoshi was, it’s a small house or portable mini shrine that is carried around during festivals in Japan! We were all really happy to learn that we’ll build together with petals and flowers a mini house! We’re so excited! We all then gathered around a small table to continue working on our mikoshi decoration!

After snack time we went to the park and the weather was so nice that we stayed a little longer to run with our teachers and play with balls.

Thank you for today everyone! Have a wonderful day ad see you all tomorrow!

Love,

Buds
