The day before...
It’s the day before our Dad’s Day! We had our usual free play time and let our friends finish up their crafts. After we packed away we did our last rehearsal for our Dad song. There was a lot to remember, such as making sure we are sitting nicely, using our nice singing voices, look at our Dads and not the teachers, and doing the actions. Good thing we had lots of time to practice today! Once we finished practicing our song, our teachers told us what we would be playing a few games with our dads. We will do two guessing games and a ball game. Today, we tried practicing the ball game so we know what to do tomorrow!
After we finished practicing for Dad’s Day, we ate our snacks then gathered for circle time. We had fun singing some songs and then we talked a little bit about the body. We reviewed what we talked about on Monday. Nimo showed us the body puzzle as he explained the organs and bones.
M: The boy is wearing T-shirt and trousers.
T: Shoes.
L: Jacket!
Nimo: Under the clothes is the skin!
Petals: Skin!
Nimo: What do you think is under the skin?
J: Blood!
R: Red.
We played with the body puzzle this morning so we had an idea what to expect. It was great to learn the red stuff under the skin is the muscles!
R: Scary…
E: I have Ultraman Muscles!
Nimo: Under the muscles?
R: Skeleton
E: Bones!
R: I can feel my hand bone!
We also took a look at some organs!
Nimo: What is this organ in our head?
J: Brain!
Nimo: The red one in the middle of our chest?
R: Lungs
Nimo: In between the lungs.
J: The heart.
We sang the “Dem Bones” song then Nimo read us a story called, “A Day With The Animal Doctors”. It was a nice story about Doctors and how they help people. Today, we focused on the important people who support doctors, Nurses. To our surprise we actually have a Nurse in Petals Class! We didn’t believe Nimo at first, we thought he was just being silly, but Evita said she was a nurse! Evita talked to us about some of the things she did to help people. Such as putting a sling on someone with a broken bone. She taught us that doctors are very busy so nurses do first aid until the doctors can do the big fix. She also told us she gives people IV for people that can’t eat or drink. Our teachers set up a small hospital bed and we all took turns being nurses and patients. The patient would like down on the bed and the nurse would use a plastic needle and put it on arm. It was very exciting being nurses for a day. We finished up our day playing the sumo game and then Sarara handed us more gifts for Hina Matsturi!
Thank you for another wonderful day! Have a great evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
