A Cup of Good Cheer
Monday, December 2nd - A cup of good cheer!
Welcome back to a beautiful sunny Monday!
We had a blast scooping and playing with rice on the front table this morning! L was mesmerized by the tinkling sound of the rice falling into the bin as he scooped and filled cups and spoons. He and S really enjoy pouring and transferring the rice from place to place!
Over at the back activity table, there were small finger puzzles out. These were great for exercising our fine motor skill but also hand-eye coordination. L really liked the animal puzzle and was so excited to put the horse and pig in the correct place! Soon, I came over and they both were sharing pieces so sweetly together. I very clearly said “thank you” with a big smile.
In the free play area, the duplo blocks were out and begging for us to come and create! R and E built a tower together! R observed E sticking the blocks together with Liezel and then came over to try it. What a nice duo! I built a cool home for his pet elephant before marching it around the room in celebration! Woohoo!
On top of the small table, we all had a chance to design and decorate our very own mugs! These mugs will hold pretend hot cocoa! Brandon sat with us and told us about how hot cocoa is a yummy hot drink that lots of people love to enjoy in the winter time. It also helps keep our bodies warm! I told us right away that her mug was for princesses and made sure to pick only purple as her design color. Beautiful work!
Once we settled for circle time, Brandon showed his icy cool necklace to us and we sang our good morning song and then practiced our special version of “twinkle twinkle little star” in preparation for our winter party! We can’t wait to show you! Afterwards, Brandon read the story “Snowy Day” to us and we followed a little boy along as he walked with his friends making footprints in the sand. They gave a really loud CRUNCH sound!
Before we knew it, it was time for us to enjoy our snacks and head out to the park. Today we had a long sand play time. S showed great hand-eye coordination as he shoveled scoops of sand into a sifting pot. Y was super focused on filling his dump truck just right to the top with sand! He loves trucks and said “wow!” as he offloaded the sand in another spot. Thanks yardman Y!
Thank you so much for today, friends!
Love,
Buds
