The Winter Night Sky

Wednesday, December 18th - the winter night sky

Hello Buds families,

It was a chilly but sunny morning today when our Buds students entered the room. T showed his teachers some books he brought from home. R was so fast at changing his shoes, he's so independent! Way to go R! Si sat with Lucy and soaked up the atmosphere of the room. It's nice to play with our older Petals friends at freeplay time, they can teach us new things!

Today we had the ever popular scented playdoh, today it was blue. All of our friends enjoyed making shapes with the cookie cutters and squeezing the playdough in our hands and rolling it so its very flat… great work Buds.

Today at circle time we used the bells again to get a feel of the sounds of winter. We sang some classic winter songs with the bells. Jingle bells, Frosty the Snowman and of course everyone's favorite Baby Shark.

We turned out the lights and we enjoyed looking at the beautiful colors from the night light. The nightlight reflected colors on the ceiling and little green stars exploded across the room. The Buds friends sat down and looked up at the beautiful lights that resembled the night sky. We sang “twinkle twinkle little star” amongst some other calming songs.

Finally we turned the lights on and Liezel read us a winter story”say hello to the snowy animals” . This story had some cute snowy animals like polar bears and wolves. The pictures were textures so that the children could touch and feel the soft animals themselves. T smiled as he felt the wolf.

At the park we went with our older Petal friends again. This time we got to explore the jungle gym and the sandbox. T enjoyed trying some rock climbing at the rock wall. Rito had so much fun enjoying sensory play in the sandbox whilst his friend S tried out the slide with Petals teacher Esmi.

Have a wonderful evening… we are looking forward to tomorrow for our last day of winter school… Let's have fun!

Love,

Buds
