Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! We would like to thank all of our parents who came today to make this special day, Extra Special! We started our day admiring each other’s costumes then continued working on our Winter Holiday Parols. We did another I spy game on the other table and while we waited for our other friends to arrive, we played with the duplo blocks and made a giant tower! We cut our free play short to start our Halloween Party! We started with a little Fashion Show! Our teachers set up a little stage and we stood at the center and struck a pose for the camera. If we wanted we could talk about our costumes. Nimo started by showing us an example of what we needed to do.
Nimo: You stand here and do a pose, then you can tell us what your costume is! What is my costume?
M: A witch!
L: No, a crayon!
Nimo: Yes, your teachers are crayons! Alright, your turn!
E: I am Ultraman, Ultraman get the monsters.
K: I don’t know…
Petals: Are you a lion?
K: Yeah, a lion!
P: Cat. I am a cat!
M: Unicorn
D: Astronaut
Evita: Where is the astronaut going?
D: I don’t know where I’m going.
M: Look! Elsa!
T: I am a Tiger. Angry! Roar!
L: I’m spiderman!
B: Octopus.
R: Wally
S: Dash!
J: Skeleton.
After our fashion show, we noticed our moms and dads had arrived at Petals Class! Our parents prepared a special bingo game for us! If we got a Bingo we had a really cool prize to take home! We took a picture together, then we sang our goodbye song.
Next up, we had our long awaited Pumpkin Carving activity! We were all so excited to see what was hiding inside the pumpkin! Nimo asked us what we thought was inside one last time.
K: Dagomushi! Ten!
R: A dance
S: Ice?
M: I don’t know.
M: Cookies!
L: Ice cream!
Nimo used the carving kit to open the top of the pumpkin then let us take a look inside and smell it too.
R: Seeds!
B: (Smells) Yummy!
The next step was to clean out the inside. We all rolled up our sleeves and put our hands inside to get a handful of the goop! All of our friends seemed to enjoy the feeling! After our pumpkin was cleaned out we decided on some shapes for the eyes and the nose. We decided to use a star and a heart for the eyes, a triangle for the nose, and a great big happy smile just like our Jack-O-Lantern lamp. We each took turns carving the pumpkin and we were very happy how it turned out! Our teachers put some light inside and our pumpkin turned into a real Jack-O-Lantern!
We enjoyed our special snacks and finished up our Halloween Party! Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a great evening and see you tomorrow for Fantastic Friday!
