It's November!

We could not imagine how quickly time passed by! Today, we said hello to the month of November. It was a good opportunity to talk about what we have learned so far, which prepares us to face a new learning experience this month. After singing The Rainbow Song, Vieda asked us what else we have learned.

              Ai: Colors

              Ma: Lines

              M: Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal

We also learned about feelings. A lot of feelings! Here’s some of them:

              A: Mad

              Ju: Happy

              Z: So-so

              T: Hungry

              Y: Very excited

              Ri: Tired

A song that has all these things that we learned, colors, lines and feelings. Let’s see what we can do to make this come true!

Talking about November, we took note of the events that we are going to celebrate this month.

1.      Kinrou Kansha no Hi (Labor Thanksgiving Day)

What is kansha? We had several interesting ideas shared during the circle time.

              M: It’s like a train.

Co: Things that are heavy, we bring it by hand. We take them to the places we think they are.

Re: It’s thank you from you.

Ju: Bring heavy stuff in a train.

M: I never been to kansha before.

O: Like police car team. I see inside is a kansha.

Co: (no hi) means like day. Like you say, play day.

This month, we will schedule a day when we thank and show our appreciation to people who help us in our community. We wondered who these people are. Our teachers said they are not our family members. Who could they be?

              C: Police?

Ju: They need to make sure you not injured.

Re: What do you mean injured?

Ju: It’s like you have blood and you don’t have a bandage and ice.

              Tyler: Tow trucks

              Junya: Ambulance and fire fighters.

Mano: People who help the store.

              Tyler: Excavators

C: People that make the city or when it’s broken.

Ju: Also dentist and doctors and hairdressers.

R: Hair doctor. Like if you have a lot of bugs in your hair.

We will discuss more about this event and plan what to do to show much we feel grateful to them!

2.      Shichi-go-san

We surprised our teachers how well we can read the numbers written in Kanji. Re asked, “But how can we do it if we don’t have 7 years old friend?”. We can’t wait to see how we will celebrate this.

Question of the Day (Did you enjoy our party?)

We shared what we enjoyed at our Halloween party yesterday. Please enjoy reading them below:

Ju: The magic because if you put the water, then the cup goes to get bigger. And then it gets smaller again. It’s so much fun!
Re: When I danced with my Mommy. We also said, “I like Halloween!”.

Ri: I like Mommy dancing together.

C: I like finding the bones.

Mi: Finding the bones. I found the last one, you know!

Ai: The magic potion. Only the one when the water falls out on the side.

              To: I like song (dancing).

              O: I like dance.

Yu: I didn’t enjoy the party because I miss Mama.

Y: I like finding the bones.

Ty: I like everything because I like Halloween.

M: I like the magic one. The one that blows up the balloon and the volcano too because that was really fun!
              Z: Dance!

Thank you so much for sharing, Flowers! We had so much fun😊

November seems like it’s going to be another fun-filled month. We love planning what to do with our teachers. We are looking forward to another month full of celebrations, making things, and giving away our LOVE! We will keep you posted!

Have a wonderful weekend!

 Lots of love,
