Learning about where we come from

Thursday 11/21/2024

Hello everyone! Welcome back for another fun day inside Flowers Class. We started our day with a longer play time than usual, as it was super rainy outside. We took that opportunity to also make a lot of crafts for our end of the year party! Be prepared for a big surprise.

CIRCLE TIME AND QUESTION OF THE DAY

During our daily circle time, we tried to remember what the topic of this week was. We have been talking a lot about our “own stories”, starting from the beginning of our lives.

M.: We were babies!

J.: And the baby gets bigger and bigger and comes out of the mommy’s tummy.

While talking about babies, T. wanted to show us very precious pictures that he brought from home; pictures of when he was inside Mommy’s tummy. We started from the first ones where T. was just an “egg” inside Mommy’s tummy. Going from picture to picture, we saw his growth to become a beautiful baby!

R.: is it baby? It looks like a fish!

Z.: No fish! Baby!

T.: Maybe a Ojii-san!

Y.: I think it’s T.!

R.: We can see face!

J.: That is T.!

M.: It’s T. But no teeth! My friend who is baby is only 0 years old and has 2 teeth.

We kept looking at the pictures of T. inside Mommy’s tummy and moved to our question of the day : “Could you speak when you were a baby?”

R.: E. can speak something so I could speak too, I think.

T.: I was always saying: “One more time”.

M.: I think I was just saying Blah-blah-blah.

Y.: I could just say “gigooooo”.

But if babies cannot really speak in sentences. How do they speak to tell their moms or dads that they are hungry, sleepy or upset? To remind ourselves about what we were looking like when we were babies, we started having a look at our “life books”.

R.: I think they can do crying.

S.: They can clap their hands.

J.: They say “goo goo gah gah”

M.: They get upset.

T.: T. is not speaking all time but doing crying joking.

R.: I was crying a lot.

Y.: This is baby Y.; this is two eggs and I get bigger and bigger and bigger! And baby Y.!

T.: I could not speak. Just drinking milk all day long.

As the discussion was still going on with everyone having something to show about their lifebooks, the pizza for the PIZZA PARTY arrived a bit sooner than expected! So we ended up discussing two homework assignments for tomorrow and went to have lunch!

The two homework assignments are:

-          What happens to the egg when the baby grows up in Mommy’s tummy?

-          How can babies tell their Mommies and Daddies when they are hungry?

Thank you for following our daily adventures!

Lots of Love,

Flowers Children.
