Fall Evacuation Drill Day!
Friday, October 18th- Evacuation half day!
Thank you all families that participated in our evacuation drill practice today!
TGIF!
Today, the weather was extra dicey but that didn’t keep our spirits down at all!
We started the day with a fun color sorting activity using the people connectors. S and M worked together sharing pieces and Stephen helped M make a long people chain! Yay for teamwork!
Over at the back activity table, L, Y and L all explored the sensory loose parts bin! There were many things to look at! Their favorite part was to look at everything through the magnifying glass!
In the free play area, A made beats while using her favorite drum! Pretty soon after she began, N popped over to join the music fun! I found and used the clacker instrument next to everyone right after she donated some more coins! Thanks I!
Pretty soon, it was time to clean up and start circle time! During circle time we sang our Halloween song and then Brandon showed us a special basket with hidden treasures inside! Before we took turns, he shared three colored plates, RED, BLUE and YELLOW! He asked us each to come up and search for a color person! After finding one, we then had the challenge of sorting them into the right plates. It was such a great way for us to practice sorting AND saying these primary colors!
Try practicing sorting colors at home together!
Today we read the story “Clifford’s First Autumn” in celebration of our fall break and to get our minds and looking eyes into gear for seeking the coming changings leaves color!
Before we knew it, it was time to enjoy our snacks and head out to the park to hold our evacuation drill practice! What a busy half day!
Thank you and have an awesome fall break everyone!
Love,
Buds
