5 little monkeys making a cake
Happy Monday everyone!
We started our new week in Buds class by playing with the puzzles on the first activity table! N and L collaborated to solve the puzzles together and remained very focused on the activity until they solved all the available puzzles. N also helped M with her puzzle by explaining to her how to complete a puzzle.
On the second activity table we had a free drawing activity and D really enjoyed first counting all the pencils and then using them and naming the colors he used.
In the free play area we had trains and lego blocks and I was very happy to build long train tracks while N built a garage for the trains with the legos.
The library was also very popular! L read a dinosaur story and then showed his life book to N, N then showed her life book too and D found it funny and wanted to share his life book too! It was so fun to see our Buds friends introduce their families!
During circle time we did a name activity to help our friends recognize their first name when they see it written somewhere, it was a fun activity, everyone participated and even if sometimes it was a little complicated, by collaborating, everyone ended up finding their name, good job buds friends!
Then Marjorie read us the story of Eileen Christelow “Don't wake up Mama, another five little monkeys story” by reading this story, we practiced our counting and counted all the monkeys and we started to learn about the new main topic of our new semester at Ohana - Community helpers.
In the story the 5 little monkeys make a cake for their mama but end up burning it and we saw people coming in to help them put out the fire, who are these people? We identified that they come with a fire truck, that they are called firemen and that they help people by putting out fires! Thank you firefighters!
After our snack we then went to play at the temple near the school and then it was time for us to return to school to eat our lunch!
Thank you for today everyone! Have a wonderful afternoon and see you all tomorrow!
Love,
Buds
