Our moms and dads!

Our Tuesday kicked off with a burst of creativity, we constructed our paper cup houses for the Petals City we are making for our class, practiced spelling our name with clay stamping, and letter matching activity.
To start off our circle time, we happily looked for different colored objects while we were singing the “Color Song”. This day is extra special because L (senpai) led the “Good Morning” song while playing the ukulele. Then, Evita revisited the concept of families, introducing tiny toy figures representing family members. Engaging the class, she asked them to identify each family member, setting the stage for today`s focus-dads. She then prompted the children to describe their dads and made the class do their Dad's portrait. Beaming with excitement, they described how their dad looked.
Evita: Who are the members of your family?
R: Mom, Dad, L, M, S, Grandpa, Grandma, Abu, Abba!
L: Daddy, Mommy, and me!
E: Mommy, Daddy, chocolate, Ultraman!
Evita: Can you tell who this is?

After finishing their Dad's portraits, Evita and L read the book for the day, “My Family, My Mom and My Dad”. It is about Kan, which belongs to a biracial family. His classmate, Lenny, went home with him because he was the student of the week. Lenny learned a lot about Kan’s biracial family. He learned that Kan and his family used slippers and chopsticks at home. Kan’s mom also calls her friends with “kun” added to their names. Kan's dad on the other hand loves playing guitar and cooking barbecue.
