Sculpting and Keith Haring

Happy Thursday Buds friends!

Today we had a fun busy day again! We started our journey by playing with cars and trains! A. and L. have created some very nice roads! M. and I. were more interested in books at first but then Liezel took her ukulele and started to sing so we all went to sing with her! L. even had the good idea to take a drum to accompany Liezel, then N. and M. took bells to join the group, A. took another drum and A. and I. took castanets!

We also made an artwork inspired by Keith Haring, an American artist who makes artwork with colorful silhouettes that make funny poses! We started by taking the smallest buds friend in the classroom and it was M. We traced her silhouette on a large sheet of paper and then we took lots of brightly colored papers like the colors of Keith Haring's characters and we did a lot of collage to fill M.’s whole silhouette with colors! We all really liked doing collage and then our teachers helped us and we drew a big black line around the silhouette to do like Keith Haring again! We are so proud of our own artwork, thank you Keith Haring for inspiring us!

Speaking of funny poses, during circle time we learned a bit about sculpting! Marjorie gave us playdough and we played with it first, we put it on our head, on our shoulders, on our knees, on our toes, then we molded the dough, we crushed it, we gave playdough shapes, then we swapped the playdough for scarves and did different dances and poses to look like statues!

When we went outside to play at the park, we met our petals friends in the green area, we were very happy to see them and play a bit with them but it was so hot that we got tired quickly, we went back to school to get a good rest and do some yoga with Liezel before lunch time!

Thank you for an other amazing day together buds friends, see you tomorrow!

Love,

Buds friends
