The Last Day of May
Designing Paper Bags
In line with our ongoing activity on scribbling and sharing ideas, instead of using paper, we were given brown colored paper bags to scribble on. Using brown colored bags provided a different “scribbling experience” as we had to choose colors that would “pop out” for our scribbles to be seen. Which colors do you think stood out the most when used on brown colored paper bags?
Apart from curating which colors to use, a lot of us had a plethora of ideas on how to design our paper bags:
K “drew” a story about her family and friends. She also drew a huge strawberry as it was one of her favorite fruits
D chose the colors orange and purple to scribble. The colors resemble the tiger prints on his sweater
E asked Er to draw a rainbow on his paper bag. After seeing how it is drawn, he traced over it with his favorite colors red and blue
T made joyous sounds while drawing circles and spirals
The Buds Kitchen / Restaurant
Our teachers were amazed that we managed to do a full operational “Buds Kitchen/ Restaurant”. E acted as the head chef, making orders to his sous chefs and head butler, N. N took charge of serving and presenting the dishes that E made.
G took a seat and a book. She opened the book and said that it was the menu wherein she pointed at the pictures that can be eaten such as “apple”, “sandwich”, etc.
R acted as the ice cream / ice popsicle vendor while A acted as the delivery man who brought in fresh vegetables that were freshly picked from the garden
N took one of the fresh lemons that A delivered and asked E to squeeze the juice out for him to taste... he said it was “sour!”
K arranged Mister Potato Head and served it to the table. She said that Mister Potato Head could be served as a cake
Circle Time
For Circle Time, we started off by passing the ball around in sync with the song “Getting There From Here” by Poolside. This activity encourages us to use both our listening ears and looking eyes to hear the instructions and keep an eye to where the ball is headed towards. The activity also encourages us to practice sharing and taking turns.
After the ball activity, a ball of playdough was given to each of us. What can we do with the ball of playdough? We can “roll”, “flatten”, “poke”, and “pinch” it. Our homemade playdough has a short shelf life which explains why it was “extra” gooey and sticky when we used it during Circle Time. How can we take it off from our hands, palms, and fingers? We can rub it together until it falls from our hands.
Outdoor Play
For Outdoor Play, we got to play various sports that involve balls… we played volleyball, soccer, bowling, and basketball. Can you guess who amongst us preferred which sport?
Also, we all had a good run around the green area of the park as we kicked balls as high and far as we could.
We hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday so far!
Love,
Buds Class Children
