When I grow up, I want....

What another beautiful day of school we had! We started our morning with lots of activities to do! On one of our tables, we had magnet shapes and people figures, we put the magnets together to make houses and towers for the people! At another table we had a free drawing activity, we could just color the paper or use stencils to make neat designs! At our third table, we colored our names with awesome designs! We also had the magnet fishing game on our game table! On our play mat, we played with the animal toys and our little chefs were busy cooking delicious dishes.

We had our usual free play time then we packed away for snack time. During our snack time, we asked our teachers if we were going to the park today. One of our friends said, “How about Robot Park?”, our teachers replied, “Do you want to go to Robot Park?”. All of our friends quickly replied, “YES!”. And that settles that, now that we know we are going to Robot Park we need to quickly finish our snacks and circle time so we have enough time for the long walk.

While our friends were finishing up their snacks, Nimo sat down with us in the library and read M’s World Book Day book, “Cinderella”. We enjoyed the classic story of our favorite princess and thanked Mirei for sharing the wonderful book! We quickly gathered into a circle and practiced our songs for our performance! Then Nimo read us our circle time story, “The Teeny Weeny Tadpole”, by Sheridan Cain and Jack Tickle. The story was about a tiny tadpole, who was learning how to jump. On his journey growing up, he met a sheep, a rabbit, and a grasshopper who could jump high into the air. The Tadpole said, “I wish I could jump like that!”, and the animals replied, “Don’t worry, you will, very very soon!”. Then the Tadpole grew into a frog and jumped higher than all the other animals!

E: That’s a baby Tadpole!

T: The Sheep jumped on the other sheep!

M: How is the sheep…is he ok?

E: That bug is called a Praying Mantis.

T: I think it’s a grasshopper. He can jump so high!

E: Look! The grasshopper landed on the ladybug!

Y: Oh no, ladybug!

G: What is that fish?

M: I don’t know…

G: Maybe a monster…

M: Noooo!

E: It’s a big fish!

T: The tadpole grow legs, grow arms, grow fingers!

R: I finish Happy Birthday and become 4 like T!

We had a wonderful story time, and just before we got ready to go outside, Nimo asked us one question:

Nimo: Just like how the tadpole grew up to be a frog, you will all grow up and be?

T: Adults!

Nimo: That’s right! Right now there are a lot of things you can’t do yet, but when you grow up you can do anything! What do you want to do, or be when you grow up?

M: I want to be a princess. I want to save the animals.

Y: Make robots!

A: I want to make a car.

T: I want to make an airplane…a giant airplane!

R: I want to have a pet and drive a train. I want a dog!

E: Make robots.

M: I want to be a princess and make things

R: I want to be a princess and be a doctor!

M: Make a robot dinosaur.

J: I want a train.

G: I want to make a motorcycle! A lego one!

E: I don’t know…

L: Drive train

P: Still thinking…

S: Fire Fighter.

A: Princess like Elsa.

Y: Be like daddy!

Thank you everyone, for sharing your wonderful dreams! We quickly wrapped up our circle time and then hurried over to Robot Park! We played on the slides as usual, but many of our friends had a great time exploring the slope area of the park. Our friends found a rock with a hole in it and the hole was filled with water. We used sticks, dirt, leaves, and anything else we could find to make soup! Don’t worry, we didn’t taste it!

Thank you friends for another fabulous day! Hope you all have a fantastic evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
