Trip to the Bank

Happy Thursday! It’s been an unusually quiet day in Flowers class, but that doesn't mean we’re not having fun; WE ARE!

MORNING ACTIVITIES

This morning, we began decorating letters that we will turn into words to be later put on our wall. While decorating them, we practiced making the letter’s corresponding sound. Our other table activiites were puzzles, painting, and free drawing.

A TRIP TO THE BANK

Earlier in the week, we talked about Bankers during circle time. Today, before going to the park, we decided to go to a bank to see what we could learn.

We walked to a bank called MUFG. When we arrived, we noticed a sign on the door saying Exit Only. We walked to the other end of the bank with the door that said Entrance. There we could see many people walking in and out of the door. It was a busy place! We tried to peek inside the door, without being in the way of the bank’s customers. Each time the automatic door opened, we could see what was happening inside.

We then walked down the street a bit further to a bank called Resona. This bank was much less busy than the previous one. We really wanted to go inside, but we thought our large class might be a nuisance to the patrons of the bank, so we decided against it. Maybe we can go with our mommies or daddies sometime so that we can get a closer look!

PARK TIME

After visiting the banks, we walked to Amishiro Park for a bit of play time. We took turns going down the big slide and seeing how high we could go on the swings!

DANCE PRACTICE

After returning from the park, Maryna came to our class to help us with our graduation dances again. We had fun doing them, and we are really improving! We can’t wait to show you!

CIRCLE TIME – Have you been to the bank?

Before our excursion to the bank today, many of our answers to the question were no. But now, we have all been to a bank before! Does anyone know the name of the bank?

Au: Azabu Bank.
Br: Azabu Juban.

What did you see at the bank?

Hi: Picture! Ohtani Shohei!
Au: Window and money machine.

How do you use the machine?

Au: You put the money in the machine, and it gives you money.
Sh: My daddy put money and press the buttons. They give a lot of money and one book. He told me to press the buttons that he need to press.

Why are the people sitting down?

Co: Waiting to pay.
Au: They’re sitting until the man gives them the money.
Be: They’re lining up to wait their turn, so you can put money in or out.

For those of us who have been inside a bank before, how does the machine work?

Ke: Daddy push a button and machine put money. Red button, I press.
Au: It’s a yellow button, and there’s actually a name on the button and when you press the button, it turns red.
Co: We have a small button down, square, we push, then the money come out.

What does the banker do?

Sh: Maybe 100!
Au: 100 can’t be in the bank, it will POP!

After visiting a bank, does anyone want to be a banker when they grow up?

Ke: Me! I like the bank! Because I like the bank lady there.

What is the machine at the bank called?

Be: ATA machine!
Hi: Azabu Juban machine.
Au: Money book machine.

Our homework for today is to find out the name of the machine at the bank! We’ll ask our parents tonight and report back tomorrow!

Have a nice evening! See you again tomorrow!
