Pattern Making

Pattern Making on Used Kitchen Paper Towel

How do we make patterns? The easiest arrangement would be an x-o-x-o pattern! This activity is targeted for our older friends to further strengthen their cognitive skills. Together with Goh San, we used dot markers to make different types of patterns. We were able to make both linear and scattered pattern arrangements. A, K, E, T, I and N spent time working in this station.

Threading Pasta

Last Friday’s Mothers’ Day event was memorable because our teachers prepared the “Make Your Own Necklace” again for us to work on our fine motor skills through looping and threading.

N and M bonded with one another by learning how to wait and take turns in getting pasta from the same bowl

B enjoyed making as much bracelets as he can

G, W, K, and E all did a great job in inserting fuzzy wires through pasta with smaller holes

Mister Potato Head

Our Mister Potato Head toy is gaining popularity lately. O and B got to bond together by arranging and inserting the body parts to its potato body.

Older Friends Modelling Through Train Tracks and Indoor Slide

Our older friends S and J have stepped up in taking the responsibility of looking after our younger friends. S showed L how to arrange and make a complex railway while J guided D in helping B ( a newcomer) feel at ease in school.

R and O bonded together with Hisami as they learned how to wait for their respective turns in using the indoor slide.

K did storytelling to a few friends by showing the images from a book about food

Circle Time

We started our Circle Time by dancing and singing to Amy Liz’ “Slipper Fish” and Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E”.

We read the book “Red is A Dragon” by Roseanne Thong to expose us to rhythm patterns while reading the words.

The beat used to read “Red is A Dragon” was repeated to describe the different ways we could use the plastic cones.

We used the plastic cones as: party hats, ice cream cones, a tool to play peek-a-boo and to make a funny, loud sound. We also thought of using the cones as horns to resemble the dragon from the story!

We hope everyone is having a wonderful start of the week!

Love,

Buds Class Children
