More About Firefighters
Happy Friday! This week had just passed by so quickly. It was a busy week preparing for Moms Day and practicing for graduation, too. Both events are special and dear to our hearts. We find it interesting that one makes us feel happy and excited and the other one makes us excited and sad. But both make us feel lucky because our moms, dads, and other family members would be able to come to Flowers in celebration! We can’t wait to see our moms on Monday😊
MORNING ACTIVITIES
Excitement was still in the air as we talked about firefighters because we were at the fire station yesterday. This morning, we made ourselves look like firefighters in today’s craft! Our teachers printed our photo and glued it on white construction paper, and then we drew the firefighter clothes, helmet, and some of us drew the shoes, too!
There was a board game called Guess Who? which was our first time playing. When Liezel shared with us the rules of the game, it seemed a bit challenging, but D said, “I want to play it!”. As the play progressed, we found the game very fun and exciting as we tried to guess which person the other person had in mind. We enjoyed describing the person on the cards, and especially trying to guess who the other person had in mind by taking note of the hints. We love this game!
As always, our morning free play was lots of fun as we played with our shinkansen boxes, blocks, and pretend toys. Imaginative play has been a wonderful part of free play as dressing up and setting up home/shops lead us into more engagement and communication with our friends.
CIRCLE TIME
We heard from the firefighter that at the fire station, firefighters sleep for only 3 hours. We learned that is because they don’t know when they will be getting a call from people asking for help to put out the fire. By the way, what number do we call when we need the firefighter’s help?
Ka: Maybe it’s 911?
Hi: How do you call friends in fire station?
Be: I think it’s 091.
Di: If the house next to the fire station, then you don’t need to call the fire station. You can just go down.
Hi: In real fire, you need call.
Au: But if you call the fire truck and there’s no fire, that’s not good.
Then, we learned that the number to call in case we get very sick is 119. R smiled and said, “Oh Ka was almost!”
Our discussion about calling the fire station sparked an interest regarding the care we should take about it. We agreed that we should never call the fire station just for fun.
I: Because the person that was sick. If someone was joking, they don’t know. They didn’t see us because they were in the station.
R: Joking one, don’t know which one!
Iz: Mommy said joking is a bad guy time.
A: If you do call 110, and you are just joking, you will be in jail.
Be: The paramedics help people who are in the ambulance.
QUESTION OF THE DAY (Do you want a job at the shops?)
Learning about more jobs is fun and interesting! Today, we talked about the jobs that we think we could find in a shop.
D: Paying job
Ke Sign job
Hi: Buy food
Ka: They put food when you buy it.
B: You can cook, too.
Iz: Everyone need to line up. You cannot cut in line.
K: Chef in bakery.
In our chat about jobs at the stores or shops, it seemed like we needed more time to come up with the store jobs. So, as our homework this weekend, we will try to use our watching eyes when we go to the supermarket or shopping. Please share what you see😊
We are so excited to see our moms on Monday!
Have a lovely weekend!
Love,
Flowers XOXO
