Our Winter Holiday Party

Many thanks for joining our winter holiday party! We are so happy to have everyone in Flowers today. Everyone was dressed in something red, green, white, and sparkly which made the ambience very festivešŸ˜Š We enjoyed dancing and playing hula hoop and newspaper games with our families, too! Thank you so much again for spending your time with us!

We hope you enjoyed watching our reindeer song and jingle bells song, as well as our dance presentations with Maryna, and our special Hanukkah song number, as much as we did! Preparing for our winter holiday party was lots of fun. As we worked on our presentations, we were also learning about animals and their families (you might have already noticed we had a reindeer dance and dance number about hippopotamuses!). When we think of winter, we canā€™t help but to think of winter holidays which could be Christmas and Hanukkah.

Speaking of Hanukkah, we heard from our teachers that we are going to have a special guest tomorrow who will talk about Hanukkah. We lit up our Hanukkah candles today and shared what we thought Hanukkah is all about. Of course, we are looking forward to hearing all about Hanukkah tomorrow!

Mi: Hanukkah is like your celebration your birthday.

Ei: Maybe itā€™s like a party.

Re: Itā€™s for candles. We can light and then play with it.

Au: Itā€™s like a special day that you can celebrate some special things.

Be: Itā€™s like Israel party. Itā€™s like their Christmas but no Santa is coming. They eat some food, dance, and meet new people.

Re: Like a happy thanksgiving.

R: What Hanukkah, this one? Hanukkah is a party.

QUESTION OF THE DAY (Do you like winter?)

We like to take note of the current season. After we enjoyed watching the leaves change their color and fall off from the trees, now we can feel the cold breeze. Yes, winter is here, and we like it! Hereā€™s why!

Mi: Because there are a lot of things to do.

Ei: I like to go to the skating school and do snow fight and build snowman.

          Gr: Build a big snowman

          Cl: I donā€™t know.

Ty: Because my daddy can drive in the snow.

Re: I didnā€™t do one winter yet so I donā€™t know.

Au: I can skate on the ice.

Ke: My daddy and brother make a big snowman.

          Ta: Snow is good!
          V: Mommy, Iā€™m making snowman.

R: In winter is big snowman. Gi help. Finished!

Be: I like winter because I can.. the Santa come to the world, and Iā€™m gonna get camera. I love celebrating Jesusā€™ birth.

Hi: I like to go to Hiroshima.

Ri: I like to play with snow.

Li: I like winter because I like building some small snow.

C: One time I got a camera from daddy from my birthday.

A: I like to do skating and build snowman.

It seemed like most of us like playing in the snow and making snowmen. What if we have a snowy day in Flowers? How many snowmen could we make? Well, we mentioned that if in case it doesnā€™t snow, maybe we can figure out how to make fake snowšŸ˜Š

BOOK TIME

For todayā€™s book time, we looked through pictures and learned some facts about animalsā€™ teeth.  We tried to guess the number of teeth the following animals have and got the biggest surprise!

DOLPHIN ā€“ 250 teeth!

CROCODILE ā€“ 80 teeth but can replace teeth 50 times in their lifetime.

SNAIL ā€“ 250, 000 tiny teeth that are on its tongue.

Ar: I see a snail poo on the top here (pointing to its body)

Gr: I go to Thailand; I see a big snail.

We also looked at the male lionā€™s hair called mane and recalled what we saw at the zoo while we were on the lion bus. Next time, we will try to check out the animalsā€™ feet!

Please enjoy the rest of the day! See you tomorrow!

Lots of love,

Flowers XOXO
