Party time!

Happy Wednesday!

This morning we held our BUDS WINTER PARTY!!!

I’s generous grandparents arrived early and showcased a beautifully hand-made holiday bear costume! Wow! Amazing! Many of us took pictures with him and it was a wonderful touch to our party! Thank you!

On the front table, there was a happy faced reindeer crafting station available. The materials were cork, shiny pipe cleaners, eye stickers and markers! Woah! N and L crafted some very cute reindeer together with their moms! They used their hands and fingers to attach the pieces and away they trotted along!

Over on the back table there was a snowman-in-a-bag crafting station set up. The items used to make these jolly snowmen were cotton fluff, stickers for eyes and a mouth along with a carrot nose! M and I squished cotton fluff into their bags to resemble snow and then added the facial features to their snowmen. Peeling and sticking stickers is a great fine motor exercise! Mom and dad helped too! Thanks!

In the playroom, we had a big LEGO chimney built up for us to throw color balls into! We all liked tossing the balls into the chimney but especially enjoyed helping L, T and B repurpose it into a huge TOWER! What a creative way to transform an activity together! Nice work!

Once we settled down for the assembly, Shelley gave a sweet speech about togetherness and how our gathering from multicultural backgrounds truly makes us all blessedly blended amongst one another. We sang our good morning song with great vigor and distributed a special gift for families of a wonderful holiday bauble which all the buds worked hard to help create! D remembers and upon seeing it, his eyes lit up with excitement! So lovely!

Our own N’s mother I sang a beautiful song about Hanukkah and gave a terrific demonstration on Hanukkah and its meaning. We learned so much together today and treasured this experience so much. We would like to thank I for the demonstration of the dreidels, explanation of the menorah and how to light them but also for the wonderful jewish confectionary donuts!  Family and friendship is everything in our ever changing world and the love and laughter we shared today in our class is evidence our precious little lights will go on to illuminate the world!

Love,

Buds
