Ice in the classroom!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
To start the day we had the connecting people at the first activity table and B, L and N made an incredible collaboration by lining up all the connecting people together and making them stand on the table! N said “C’est beau” in French and then translated it into English after “Pretty!”. B pointed out the construction for everyone to look at and L had a big smile when the teachers gave compliments!
On the second activity table there was a large puzzle that covered a large part of the table and L took on the challenge of completing it, L and T helped him and the three of them managed to finish the puzzle together !
On our third activity table we continued our big winter crafts project with our marble stars! We rolled marbles covered with gold and silver paint on paper cut in the shape of stars to make a pattern on them. We will then use these stars to decorate the classroom windows! L and T particularly liked this activity even if we all obviously really liked rolling the marbles on our stars. M laughed a lot just by watching the marbles roll while the others made the craft.
I also painted her birthday canva today since next week we’re celebrating her and N’s 2nd birthdays with a Big Birthday party in the classroom!
In the free play area we played with cars and D and A had some great races by rolling their cars very far!
For circle time, as our big Christmas party is next week, we started by rehearsing our two songs (Frosty the snowman and Jingle bell) while dancing with our shakers that we made ourselves for the occasion. Then Marjorie read us Colin West’s story “I don’t care! Said the bear” where we discovered other animals that live in the cold and in the snow and finally, after the story we finished building our own snow! Yesterday we did the first step by sprinkling salt on paper covered with glue and today it was even more magical! We used blue food coloring that we sprinkled on the salt and it was magical to see the blue spread on the salt! It looked like ice crystals and snow! We are looking forward to putting it on the classroom wall to decorate for our Christmas party!
It was an other busy but fun day in buds class! Thank you for today everyone, have a wonderful evening and see you all tomorrow!
Love,
Buds
