Animals in the jungle
Good Afternoon! This Tuesday at Petals, we dove into another day of engaging activities. The morning began with creative activities, featuring dolls’ haircuts and the use of ABC chopsticks to strengthen our little fingers. Nimo sat down with children who hadn’t finished their Turkey Craft. In preparation for our winter show, Maryna led our dance practice, where the students eagerly accepted the challenge of copying the dance steps. R even requested one dance that he particularly liked. We also practiced our Christmas and Hannukah songs with Nimo.
Evita started our circle time by revisiting the jungle animals that we learned yesterday and prompting students to think about how these jungle animals move. M, R, and J showed how they think a hippo will move to get his snacks. She then introduced the “Hungry Hippos” game. Two students will pretend to be Hungry Hippos and try to get as many balls as they can

Evita: Do they walk fast?
M/ L: NO!
For the Hungry Hippos Game:
Each student took turns pretending to be the hungry hippo and counted the balls they got. We had a little friendly competition with each other. Some of us won and some were also winners for trying their best in counting.
Reading Time:
It’s R’s turn to help in reading our book titled, “ Can I Join Your Club?”. Evita asks R which animal is on the book cover. R said, “ Elephant, snake, lion, and a duck.” The book is about a duck who wants to enter a club to have friends. He tries to join different clubs like, the elephant club, lion club, and snake club but fails to enter. Elephant Club requires animals who enter their club to have a good memory and sound like an elephant. The Lion Club requires animals to roar like lions do. The Snake Club requires the animals to not have arms, legs, and can hiss. The duck was a bit sad that he wasn’t able to enter this club. Then he thought of just making his own club. A tortoise and a bunny ask him if they could join the Duck Club. Instead of asking them if they have wings and if they can quack, he asks them if they want to be in a club with him. In the end, a lot of animals joined and he changed the club’s name, from Duck Club to Our Club. Petals learned that it is important to be welcoming to everyone.
Park time:
Y, E, T, and A were looking for small and big ants. L, M, and M enjoyed going up and down the slide. Y, N, R, and S made teachers ice cream from sand. A, T, E, R, and S taught Evita how to swing with the monkey bars. She pretended to sleep while they were teaching her to swing like a monkey. Their faces light up when they are trying to teach her.
Wishing everyone a restful evening! Looking forward to more delightful moments together tomorrow.
Love,
Petals
