It's a process!
Thursday, November 23rd 2023: It’s a process!
Hi everyone!
This morning, we used threading game challenges on the front activity table which M showed great interest in! What a great way to strengthen your fingers! Over on the second activity table, there were shape matching puzzles laid out. L made an effort with N to locate and match all the shapes! They are a great team!
On the small table, D wrapped up the final details of his turkey collage. It looks so nice and colorful! In the play area, we had a pretend thanksgiving picnic! We prepared food and snacks for our stuffed animal friends to eat. A, M and D prepared many delicious dishes together! Bravo chefs! There were also cars and construction equipment nearby that N and T loved playing with. Today they made lots of “BEEP BEEP” sounds!
After we cleaned up and sat down to sing “good morning”, “frosty the snowman” and “jingle bells” for morning circle, Brandon invited us to start a new process art collaboration! MITTENS! First we will paint on top of a large paper poster to create the background and then decorate it with stickers, glitter and marker illustrations after it dries.
D, N and N joined in to use rollers applying the first colorful layer. Today they used orange and red! The rollers had different textures that revealed very interesting patterns and lines. Our textured rollers are a great way to spread paint in unique ways!
Did you know? The paint roller was invented by Norman Breakey of Canada! Thanks!
Have a great evening and happy thanksgiving!
Love,
Buds
