A tomato for little dino

Happy Monday everyone!

What a pleasure to see everyone again! It's been so long, how was your vacation?

We have started this new semester in a spooky fall and Halloween atmosphere!

On our first activity table we had sensory activities on the theme of autumn. We had in a bowl the leaves that we collected at the park last friday, in another bowl we had pine cones and tiny logs and next to these bowls we had a magnifying glass available to look at everything closer. We all really like using the magnifying glass! M laughed every time she put the magnifying glass on her eye, I had fun analyzing the illustrations of the library’s books, D and L looked at the leaves before D decided to put the magnifying glass on Marjorie's eye and then laughed at the result. I also really enjoyed looking at the pine cones with the magnifying glass!

On our other activity table we continued our preparations for our big Halloween party tomorrow! N and N particularly loved the painting activity and used lots of different colors! We are so excited to show everything we have prepared for the occasion! We are also all very excited to show our friends our beautiful costumes!

In the free play area, we had lego blocks and L and B had fun building a big tower!

M also brought Tamara a book and N and I sat down to listen to the story M had chosen! Then L came with another book and L, N and D joined the reading activity to listen to the story told by Tamara.

For our circle time, Marjorie read us the story of a little dinosaur who had very sharp teeth and didn't know what to do with them. The book is called “Little Dinos don’t bite” by Michael Dahl. We did an activity to teach the little dino and all our buds friends what we can do with our teeth:

Can we bite toys? No thanks!

Can you bite shoes? No thanks!

Can you bite a chair? No thanks!

Can we bite our friends? No, no, no thank you!

We hug our friends!

What do we do with our teeth? What can little dino do?

L said “a tomato” and N “a cookie”!

Yes, with our teeth, we can eat our yummy lunch and our yummy snack!

Then all our buds friends brought the little dino some food to make him understand that it was okay to chew on food and they all gave the dino a high five to tell him that when we love our friends, we make high fives and hugs but no bites!

Then to finish our circle time, we rehearsed our Halloween songs for our party tomorrow!

And it was already time to go to the park where we had a good run before going back to school to eat our lunch!

Thanks for today everyone! Have a wonderful evening and see you all tomorrow for our amazing spooky party!

Love,

Buds
