On the hunt for leaves!

Happy Friday!
This morning we had community helper toys out on the front table. On the back activity table there were colored bear tokens we used for counting and grouping. In the play area, there were many wooden blocks set out for us to build with. L built a tall tower! It looks like the sky tree! I really loved calmly counting colored bears with Goh and B had fun organizing them by color. Great work! A’s favorite community helper toy was the firefighter. She was very chatty, saying “no” and “shoe”. M was showing everyone her picture on the buds life wall of her and B playing at the park. She loves that picture!
After we cleaned up, we sang our good morning song with Brandon and his guitar but we also sang a new song with Liezel called “Five Little Leaves”! We also read a story about autumn leaves and their many colors called “Leaves, Leaves!”. L and D were very interested in the textures of the book’s pages. They both felt almost every page!
We also had an earthquake drill! Earthquakes can be pretty scary but we quickly sprang into action to keep ourselves safe with the teachers!
Pretty soon it was time for us all to enjoy a snack and then go outside! Since today our theme was leaves, we were asked by the teachers to find different colored ones from the park! Marjorie said that we could find red, yellow and brown ones! N was very excited to help and grabbed many brown and yellow leaves to put inside our bag. N and T teamed up to gather many leaves together! You two make a great team!
We found so many! Have you ever thrown a big handful of leaves into the air? It’s so much fun to see them float and fall away!
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Buds team
