Different Buildings in the City
Another day, another city adventure! This time around, we took a look at the different buildings in the city!
Pauline showed us some pictures that she had: the first was of skyscrapers, which are really tall buildings. We saw skyscrapers in Shanghai, China, and Tokyo, Japan. They were so tall that they dwarfed other buildings and even Tokyo Tower!
The next building we saw was that of a house and an apartment building. We talked about where we lived.
T: In a building
R: A house!
A: I’m living in a building
C: I’m living in all the way in Tokyo. I live in Tokyo. In Korea, I have an elevator.
K: Oh yeah! (Elevator)
S: *Pointed to the picture of an apartment building*
T: Glass no uchi (Glass house)
Next, we saw a picture of a shopping mall which was named Aeon mall. Here, we can buy a lot of things like clothes, toys, books, sofa, food, table, and sometimes even pets.
C: I need to buy a new table. A little table. I have a big table like this.
We also saw other buildings like hospital, fire station, police station, and museum– a dinosaur museum in particular.
R: Is…. a princess museum?
Pauline searched the internet, and she found one! Different beautiful dresses that were worn by princesses were on display.
H: Elsa?
We didn’t find one, but what we saw was a Disney museum! It had different paintings of Disney characters and princesses.
R: Sofia?
A: Is there a Sofia museum?
Pauline didn’t find one, but she found a nice picture of Princess Sofia. She also showed us a train museum. Then, we talked about what our favorite buildings are.
A: Police building(Station)because I like police officers and I say “Hi!” and they say “Hi!” back to me
H: Disney museum. I like Elsa.. and Olaf!
T: I went to to the Dinosaur museum. I like triceratops.
Gr: Skyscrapers. This one! *Pointed to the picture of the Jin Mao Tower*

S: Fire station. I like…fire truck
K: Fire station! Fire truck!
T: T likes fire station.
Our morning free play was also quite busy as we enjoyed playing with the kitchen toys and cars; we loved using the stickle bricks to make our own buildings. We also enjoyed book time with Sayaka as she read “You’re Not Ugly, Duckling!” by Steve Smallman.
That’s all for today- how about you? How was your day?
