Show and Tell With O and A

Happy Monday! When we started our circle time, C volunteered to be the Weather Reporter, and she looked out our garden to check the weather. She came back with a report of “It’s raining!”  and we told our teachers that we can’t go to the park today. Our teachers thought it’s a good opportunity to have another show and tell- for two friends!

O showed us his favorite book, “The Dinosaur That Pooped a Planet!” by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter. Here’s how his show and tell went…..

Pauline: What is your book about?

O :The Dinosaur That Pooped a Planet

*Page 1*

O:That's a dinosaur. Doing skipping. Playing.

Pauline: Who's this boy?

O: Just a boy.

*Page 2*

O: Danny and dinosaur. Lunch. This is mommy.

*Page 3*

O:Tiny astronaut.

Pauline: The astronaut is going inside the..

O: Rocket!

*Page 4*

O: 3,2,1 blast off!

*Page 5*

Pauline: The rocket ship is going up or down?

O: Up

*Page 6:*

O: The tummy rumbled. The T-Rex is hungry.

*Page 7*

O: Danny is sad because the T-Rex is hungry.

*Page 8*

O: Eating the rocket

*Page 9*

O: There's more rocket outside. The moon and another moon. The dino made the whole. The moon is not broken

*Page 10*

O: He's eating the moon. Cheese.

*Page 11*

O: I found dinosaur. A fat dinosaur.

*Page 12*

O: Sad (Danny).

Pauline- Why did he cry? Because the dinosaur is going to eat him next?

O: Yeah.

*Page 13*

O: The dinosaur needs to poo poo

*Page 14:*

O: Poo poo!

Pauline: What did he poop?

O: Spaceship, a headphone…….

*Page `5*

O: Go around the planet

*Page 16*

O: Dada and Mama.

*Page 17*

O: The poo poo planet. This is not the poo poo planet, it's the moon

*Page 18*

O: The cat comes out of the bum.

We thanked Oscar for his show and tell and clapped our hands for him. Our teachers asked if we had any questions.

S: I like the dinosaurs

C: I like the dinosaurs

R and K: Why did the dinosaur poo poo?

O: Because he ate the moon. A big tummy like a circle

C: Why does he have a big tummy?

O: Hungry. Eating a lot

We had a short water and pee break, then it was A’s turn to have her show and tell. It was called “The Princess and the Pea” by Hans Christian Andersen.

Pauline: What’s your book about?

A: The Pea and the Princess.

O: Pee…. pee- pee?

Everybody laughed- what a coincidence that after a story about a poo, we would talk about pee….. But Pauline said it only sounds the same. She showed us the picture of a pea- green peas!

A: Green…. Peace! *She flashed us a peace sign with her fingers*

It’s interesting how a lot of words sound the same but they have such different meanings!

And so A began to tell us the story as she turned the pages of her book….

“The prince looking for a princess. He’s sad. He don’t find any princess. Rainy. He found the princess. Here- peas. Prince’s mommy only one pea put on the bed sheet. Princess is not comfortable because pea under the mat sheet. She is not happy because of pea. Princess is happy now. Prince Is happy. A baby! Princess’ baby.

We clapped and thanked A, and the teachers told us it was question time.

R: Why princess sleeping?

A: Because she was sleeping.

C: Why princess is going to outside *She asked about the picture on the last page of the book)

A: Because she wants to go outside.

Pauline: I also have a question… *She turned to the first page and pointed to a picture of someone with a crown.* Is this a real princess?

A: It’s not a real princess.

Pauline: How about this one?

A: This is a king, and this is also a king

We requested to play the floor is lava afterward- L and H were our winners today. Yay!

Morning free play was busy as usual- we played stickle bricks with Sayaka, and the food in our toy kitchen. Some of us finished special canvasses with Kai, and we also did some koinobori art with him.

That concludes the first day of this week- oh, and the teachers told us that it’s going to be a short week! We don’t have school on Thursday and Friday because they said they will have a conference- that means they will have a meeting with all the mommies and daddies.

How about you? How was your day?

Love,

All the happy children in Petals Class
