Our Mom and Dad's Jobs

Happy Thursday everyone! We are so happy the weather held out until home time! We started our morning playing with the animal toys and continuing our hanger art. Shelley came to flowers and asked us if we would like to make a center piece for today’s OPTO meeting. We were more than happy to take on the task and so we made flowers from paper cups that were in our junk art box. First, we used paint to color and design our unique flowers then we left them outside to dry. Once they were dry, we used our scissors to cut them open. We then chose a pipe cleaner to be the stem of the flower and just like that, we had a beautiful center piece ready! After we finished our crafts we cleaned up our classroom and had our snacks, then got ready to welcome Maryna for our ballet practice today. Maryna taught us a new dance that was very fast! It was difficult for some of our friends to keep up to the quick tempo, good thing we have lots of time to practice! We also reviewed the dances we did yesterday and we thanked Maryna and headed to the park.

The park was sunny and hot, we don’t want to believe that it’s still going to get much hotter than this when summer comes. We spent the first half of our park time playing on the big slide, then the last half at the green area with the rings and balls. We had a great time running, climbing, spinning, kicking, and throwing. A few of our friends were doing pull-ups on the bar! When we got back from the park we started our circle time. We continued our discussion from yesterday about jobs.

A: I know my mom and dad’s job. My mom and dad sometimes make my food and sometimes play with me.

D: Working is “tabalyu”, working on computer.

B: My daddy works and goes and gets money from the bank.

T: Work on computer.

Z: Daddy works on the computer, not my mommy. Sometimes my daddy goes to the office.

K: Some people have different jobs. Some people work, build tall buildings, go to Outer Space, design buildings, draw, teach, help people, cook, fish, fly airplanes, drive battleships, shinkansens, and teach skiing.

T: My mom is not a chef because she only cooks food for me and my friends, not like a restaurant.

K: My mom is a chef, she cooks fish at her restaurant.

Z: Cooking is not working because it is helping people that are hungry because kids can’t cook.

D: Someone hit people, not watching out.

K: Wresting and boxing are jobs.

Z: Some people don’t have jobs.

T: Planting flowers is a job.

Nimo: What’s me and Vieda’s job?

B: Teacher.

Nimo: What about Maryna and Shelley?

Y: Office.

Z: Teachers teach kids.

T: Some people work in the circus.

Nimo: Why do people work?

Z: No one knows.

T: When mommy and daddy are working, the teachers take care of them and to make us rich.

K: My mommy and daddy do work and gets lots of money.

K: Because they need money for food and water.

Z: Working in the computer is not good for you, but other jobs are good for you. Computer working can’t make you rich.

S: Work on the computer.

Y read our question of the day which was, “Do you know what your mommy’s and daddy’s do for work?”.

We counted how many said yes and no, wrote the number then added them up!

B: My dad works, he gets money.

Nimo: What does your daddy do for work?

B: Works.

H: They both talk on the phone.

T: My dad buys food for me and plays with me, my mom does the laundry and cleans the bed.

Z: Only daddy works. I know what my dad does because I sneaked up on him and saw. He plans with his collogues.

Nimo: What does daddy plan?

Z: Something.

S: Dad is a Pilot.

K: I know Daddy’s work, he makes coffee. Vieda said we can watch my daddy’s video again. Mommy makes fish and do talking.

K: My dad works on the computer, my mom works in the same building. Sometimes they work at home, sometimes they work somewhere else.

Kyosei: I know K’s daddy’s work, he makes pizza!

D: My daddy works a lot! Daddy cooks. My mom works big than my daddy. My mommy plays with me, we play oni games.

Y: I don’t know what mommy and daddy do.

Nimo told us that even though our moms may not be working right now, they may have had a job before we were born. Our homework is to find our the name of the job our moms and dads are doing (or did).

Thank you for another lovely day! Have a great evening and see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Flowers
